I'm not sure if this should go in here or not, so move to wherever if you please.

But I'm just wondering what are the advantages of camshaft gears? Worth the money or no?

If yes, specific brands being the best? worst?

So they'd be virtually useless on my GSR cams then?

I figure I could take out the a2 cams and and install the GSR cams with new ones on them. That way I don't have to try to get the gears off my stock a2 cams.

Basically it'd be in my best interest to just find a set of a2/GSR cam gears then?

So, in three years time... I'll probably go and boost the car. Would cam gears be beneficial to tuning the timing then?

No milling... it's already an interference engine as it is.

I'll be looking for some stock GSR camshaft gears here shortly.

interference engine?

If the belt snaps, the pistons will hit the open valves (since the cams aren't spinning but the crank still is).

if the belt snaps, the pistons hit open valves due to overlap.

HAHAH after i read that i looked it up then remember wheni threw a timing belt the mechanic had said that, LOL now i remember

Ok cool. I'll look into them later. GSR cam gears 40/shipped a good deal? I've had several people say the GSR cams for 75 were a steal.

why buy stuff you dont need.. take the time and pull the cam gear off the a2 cams

because it'll be easier to do a simple switch out. It's not like you can't resell shit.
