Like the title says. My SRS light is on. Can i still drive my car? I was fixing my signal switch and as the manual says i disabled the airbags. That all i have done and now i'm having that SRS light. Can an ecu reset fix the problem. I have a 93 civic 4 doors. Thanks!

you have to reset it at the dealer or you can do it your self but its real tricky its not a normal ecu reset but yes you can drive it with no problems your air bag just want come out if you wreck

yeah, the problem with the srs light is, it does take a specific reset procedure. also...there is always the possibility that the air bag will fire when messing with it.

i would even take this to a dealer.

someone posted this a while back .they did it and it worked if you want to try be my guest but i'm not taking respon, on this one
good luck
1. Turn off ignition
2. Connect the SCS service connector (or paper clip) to the 2pin wire you take out of the drivers fuse box and is now hanging from a thicker harness.
3. Turn on ignition
4. SRS light comes on for 6 sec and then goes off. Before it has been off 4 sec, Remove the SCS connector (paper clip).
5.SRS light turns on again. Reconnect the SCS service connector withen 4 sec of light coming on
6. Light goes off, remove connector witeh 4 sec after light went off.
7. SRS light blibks 2 times telling you the memory is erased.
8. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds and start car

I'd say, "better to be safe than sorry", this is more of a dealer job, because airbags are rather important. Thats my opinion. But if your good and attempt to reset and have no problems, I give you credit. If it was me tho I would spend a little to reset it, rather than risk it but again thats just my opinion so. -Gary

well custompainter's instructions above will not make them automatically fire. i thought the reset procedure had something to do with the SRS fuse....which may cause the air bags to fire when reconnected.
