just wondering about strutbars, no name cheapies vs name brand expensive. in theory what they do is very simple tie 2 struts together, but i was wondering in a real life situation are there major diffrences? do you get what you pay for? or are the diffrences negligable?

thanks, that was kinda what i thought. I don't wanna be penny wise dollar foolish. Trying to build 4ws prelude for best handeling possible, within finincal reason. A lot of nice twistie back roads around here, fun for driving on, but not like an idiot (too many deer). the speed aspect will come later on down the road. Bored at work trying to price up a wish list. Found front and rear upper strut bar megan for $75 shipped.

both of those bars are crap

get a neuspeed... solid no hinge construction, and they connect to much better stiffening points than the others

and they are not expensive

Bars that are all one piece or have the ends welded on are definitely the way to go. If you have some bucks to spend then you might want to look into a 3-point bar for the front. It will attach at the strut towers and on the firewall.

If you are going to go with one of the cheapo ones, the thicker you can get is probably better. I can't imagine that those cheapo inch thick bars you see on E-Bay do much of anything at all.

after doing some research looks like i'll spend the cash and go with the neuspeed. One other question, do the bars wear i.e. wear out and have to be replaced? if they do how do you tell that they are worn?

i want to get the pwjdm rear strut bar.. solid piece FTW!

i personally like the mounting spots with the neuspeed bar.. instead of mounting on the shock tower, they mount to the upper control arms..

yep.. they designed those for performance, not looks

on what car.. please..

its a 94 EG.. and i'm talking about the front strut bar.. the mounting bolts like to fall inside the fenderwell and you have to jack up the car and hit them back in with a hammer.. if you get lucky you wont have to.. but its a stiff mofo

ah... ok. he had a picture of a rear upper so that's what I was talking about.

of course my front upper can be unbolted and bolted back on in 10 minutes too.
