Im trying to get some information because I have to rebuild the engine on this car as it has over 192k miles on it so.... i'm gonna have to rebuild the whole thing. looking for some direction in the d16z6 world.

I recently read this in a previous post (from like 2003)

"If you want a little more power go with a head gasket from a d16y8(96-00 ex) and get some ZC pistons and a cam along with I/H/E and you will have a pretty decent 160 hp motor for way less than a b16 and then you could do some head work and get the hondata system and have a pretty nice motor. "

I was just wondering if this was a good direction to take if I was attempting to hang out in the low 13's high 12's. I understand I'd have to go with a turbo set-up but.... I'm just looking for a start on this platform.

and as far as intake goes full intake exhaust and header opinions?

the parts in the post are for an all motor. i would just either rebuild it for a specific goal. but make sure it's what you want and can afford.

he's right. you need to set an hp goal early. if you want high 12's, you are going to have to go with super low comp pistons and a big turbo. if you want low 13's, you are going to need to rebuild it back to stock specs and get a good turbo for it, lsd, and good tires.
 
yea I keep trying to pick up some 1988-95 deals and they seem to continually fall through.

Im going to a dealer today to test drive an 03 si. Maybe do the car payment thing.

sorry to upset you guys but I decided to buy a ep3.

Its a nice car and I have alot of goals for it. soooo Right now im saving for suspension and exhaust. then its precaution measures for a jackson racing s/c. I really want to take a non turbo direction as EVERYONE and sometimes their brothers... goes turbo. So... s/c it is. It'll produce the exact results im looking for so yea.

Im gonna talk things over with mikey bottles (from this forum) and were gonna decide on lowering springs or a full coilover suspension. Got quite a sleeper build going on.
