ok so i currently have a ~200whp boosted d16z6 that is gettin tired and old! I recently bought a complete b18b for 150(great deal). My hp goals with the dual cam engine is ~350-380 on 93 octane, my question is, is it worth the money/time/headaches to go ls/vtec or should i just go ls-t?? i will be building the bottom end btw!!

ok, lemme start this out by saying im pretty nub hehe... but by what ive heard its a lot easier, and also more reliable, to go ls turbo right off the bat. because of the tuning required to get ls/vtec turbo right. but thats a nubs opinion, my opinion none the less...

if you are planning to turbocharge it, going vtec is pretty worthless. your goals are reachable on stock block depending on turbo and fuel management.

id like to disagree, cause theres this one car thats in super street thats pulling 7somthin to the wheels and its lsvtec turbo, its full race. but still i think if your goin turbo, go ls first, then later on down the road slap vtec on that mug with some turbo optomized vtec cams, well thats my noobish opinion :D

just build the LS motor for boost and you wont need vtec, besides, if you do a ls/vtec swap, you had better build that bottom end, cause if your gonna be reving above 7k that bottom end wont last all that long

do the head swap

a stock B/vtec head w/IM will outflow a stock non v B/head w/IM.

a tuner that cant tune a turbo vtec set up should be
shutdown. end of story

get a golden eagle kit and follow the instructions. with a semi built bottom end
[ie: rods/pistons, arp harware] youll be golden

then you can take the money you were going to spend on a P&P on the ls head and spend on other things. like ems

thanks for the advice!!

what i will do is build the block with some cp or wiesco pistons, eagle rods arp hardware as you stated and boost it with the stock head, then later on down the road i will swap the head with a vtec one!! my schedule is as follow, by the end of jun i want a semi-built turbo ls, then by the middle of maybe august i want a turboed ls/vtec!
