looking for your opinions..

I have two cars.
1. 1991 Honda Accord Wagon
2. 1990 Honda CRX Si

my accord wagon is an Automatic and has a blown head gasket...
the crx is a rolling shell with no motor, no wires, nothing, (not even a dashboard)...

I bought a H22A1 with 96K miles with complete wiring harness and P13 VTEC ECU from a 1993 Honda Prelude Si VTEC. I did not buy the manual tranny with it but i can get it still.

My original plan was to put the H22A1 into my accord...keep the motor stock and get back my daily driver, and put a K20A into my crx..

After reading alot online about swapping the h22 into my accord, I'm finding that i should replace certain parts (H23 manual Timing Tensioner), and the balance shaft seal on the motor since i am already replacing the timing belts and have the motor half apart..

My Question is this:
should i continue adding upgrades, and drop it into my crx, OR just replace the necessary parts and drop into my accord wagon?

Should the CRX get the H22A1 or the K20A, knowing that there are more mods for the H22 than the K20.....for now...and the h22 takes turbo better than the k20A (type -r motor)..

Save yourself a fortune. Fix the head gasket in the accord and daily it 100% stock.

Drop the H22 in the crx.

Take the money you saved, and visit your local stock broker.

I agree with Blanco on just fixing the head gasket on the Accord and keeping it stock. The H22 in the CRX is doable, but it's pretty much only going to be useful as a straight-line racer. The H22 is going to take up quite a bit of room in the engine bay, plus it will probably compromise your handling somewhat. If that's what you're going for with the CRX, then go for it, but if you're looking to build it back into a car that can handle well and be comfortably driven on the street than a B-series or K-series is probably a better choice.

Also, I think you might be confused on the H22 and K20. The H22 is the one you have to be careful about boosting. The K20 on the other hand, is great N/A or boosted, and you can boost a decent amount on the stock block.

umm.. that was Phyregod.. not Blanco .

exactly, fixing a head gasket aint that hard, and you would be WAY happier with that h22 in the civy, if you dont have a tranny for the h22, just do a h2b swap
