Well I have been doing some thinking lately.

It turns out my priorities have changed in such a way that I am no longer able to enjoy my car in the same capacity I was before moving out here to NJ/NYC.

What should I do?

I never drive it, and I have been unable to find the time to seriously get involved with the local autox club . . i have just been too busy with other stuff. I have been having fun doing other things and having this car is actually holding me back to an extent.

Should I store the car or sell it? I will probably regret selling it, but there are always other cars out there . .

Thanks for your input.

id be keeping it weither or not i drive it or not though

I would sell it, im sure you can build a better car later anyway. I think its time for you to move on!

what are your other modes of transportation?

NYC Subway.

Multiple people told me to sell it when i moved originally . .. it took me this long to realize that there was no way i needed it.

well if you sell it, you are gonna end up kicking yourself in the ass later on for selling it. i say keep it and store it...besides you never know when you are going to need to use it. just my thought

Or he could sell it, save up his money and invest his cash from the sale and buy something he really wants down the road.

Supra
350Z
RX7

.....

SELL IT theres no point in having a car sit and collect dust, and that car deserves to be driven.

I am not big into red cars but yours is sick..... SORRY I had to vote for you to store it I have been envious of your car for awhile it makes me want to get one or a 71 or 72 510 and throw a SR in it :)

Cars are poor investments and depreciate over time. I think we're towards the end of the big silvia movement and the s14's are losing some of their selling power. At the very best, your car increases in value slightly due to increased demand and rarity, but those increases in value are going to pale in comparison of the cost to store the car.

In NYC, some places charge upwards of $500 a month just for parking spots, storeage costs for an actual vehicle where its going to be well cared for and maintained will be costly as well.

Best financial move, sell the car and never look back. Invest the money or atleast stick the money in a ING Savings account. It will be much nicer to have a small bank roll to fall back on should you need the cash and the feeling of security that being capable financially can bring to a person is unmatched.

I feel better knowing that I have money available at any time than being strung out worrying about paying bills from month to month.

**All the people who tell you to store the car are car aficionados as opposed to money managers.

Well, here is my main point . .

I have no exit plan from my job. I have also built myself a prison, which traps me at this job . . the bars and locks of which are this beautiful car which i cannot afford w/out my current income.

I dont need it - i want it. But i want my freedom more, and i cant justify working to keep something which will only deteriorate over time.

Store at your parents house or a friends house for a while so you have something to use when you leave the city.
