um...

NO

1. Three words, Foreign Object Damage

2. Jet engines are loud as fuck and the exhaust heat would be a severe liability

It's obviously not this big of an engine but watch this

YouTube - Jet Blast: It'll Blow You Away

3. With all the air being pulled in from the left hand side you would create a severe aerodynamics problem. The right hand side of the vehicle would have drag and the left vacuum, why do you think Turbine placement on aircraft is ALWAYS symmetrical. It's not so bad cause you'd be on the ground but with the hypothetical speed you could reach I wouldn't fuck with it. Plus, what is that a fucking dryer hose? What happens when that thing becomes unattached?

YouTube - Ouch...dude gets sucked into the jet intake.

your head a splode

I saw an S-10 rebuild into a jet engine vehicle. Center placement, stabilizers, it rocked. But I would hardly call it a fun weekend toy.

i dont care....

it would be fun getting exploded and getting licked off the road ^_^

Thats cool, but those mini jet motors usually only do like 35 pounds of thrust.. So it wouldn't be very fast. And you certainly dont have to worry about aerodynamics, rediculous amounts of suction, blah blah blah.. people have mounted these things on bicycles.

I think it would be fun to build one, but not to buy and own one, as the standard 5hp briggs and straton tiller powered go-carts would walk all over it performance wise.

35lbs?

okay, a jet engine large enough to make the project worthwhile in that setup would have the aforementioned problems

35lbs?

mount a fucking ceiling fan to it

or just eat burrito's the night before and hope that you arent considered ass a weapon of mass destruction

wow just watched the video where it drove by

holy fucking slow

a 5hp lawnmower engine will get that thing moving better than that

True that.

They almost look homemade . .

I had a car that shot flames once. Usually accompanied with bits of muffler / exhaust. I'd rev it to the rev limiter, turn it off, wait until it was close to idle speed keeping it floored the whole time, and turn it back on again. I could get 10 foot flames out of that bastard.

By the time I was done with the car, It had a bucket seat (literally) and the only gear that worked was reverse. Purchased for $150, had all kinds of fun (jumping, burning tires, running over and crashing into random objects) and sold that car for $75. I was 15 at the time. I did finally blow the muffler clean off. It was awesome.
