The Riced Sleeper
So I'm on my way to work today, and from the looks of it a semi or some other huge truck had a blow out either last night or early this morning on I-25cause there were all kind of tire treads all over the road. So there's this suburban in front of me just going over them while I'm going around trying to avoid the treads and traffic in the other lanes when all of a sudden this huge as half a tire (literally as high as my front bumper) pops up. Had just went around another tread and was straightening up in the lane when out it popped from under the suburban.
Too late to avoid it unless I wanted to hit the car next to me so I had no choice but to attempt to roll over it. As tall as it was I thought it was gonna roll up on the hood. However I just rolled over it, to hear the horrible noise of crunching, shit breaking loose, and cracking. Looked in the rear view thinking shit let's see what comes out, either a side skirt, bumper, or L.E.D. tubes, but nothing except the tire. So I get off on Paseo Del Norte and I'm cruising at about 70 and I hear this dragging noise so I looked in the side mirror and saw a yellow piece dangling at first I thouth it was one of the skirts, but turned out to be the bumper. Pulled over and got out to inspect the damages and to reclaim my bumper from the middle of the road thinking please don't let no one hit it and please don't let it be the cause of an accident. Luckily neither happened.
So I got it out the road and pulled it up the car, the left side of it is cracked where the screw was and then the metal bracket on the chasis itself is hanging from the car snapped in the same place it was before when I got hit in December or February, but I had repaired it with some good old JB weld. Luckily I had some of the retaining pins to hold the other side on. Now I just hope it doesn't fall off on the drive home. Gotta take the back roads which will make a normal hour commute into 2+ hours. But I'd rather that than chance getting on the free way and getting that wind under there again to snap it off again and this time maybe cause an accident.
