My car is too low and the DOT/public safety is too lazy

The Riced Sleeper
So I'm on my way to work today, and from the looks of it a semi or some other huge truck had a blow out either last night or early this morning on I-25cause there were all kind of tire treads all over the road. So there's this suburban in front of me just going over them while I'm going around trying to avoid the treads and traffic in the other lanes when all of a sudden this huge as half a tire (literally as high as my front bumper) pops up. Had just went around another tread and was straightening up in the lane when out it popped from under the suburban.

Too late to avoid it unless I wanted to hit the car next to me so I had no choice but to attempt to roll over it. As tall as it was I thought it was gonna roll up on the hood. However I just rolled over it, to hear the horrible noise of crunching, shit breaking loose, and cracking. Looked in the rear view thinking shit let's see what comes out, either a side skirt, bumper, or L.E.D. tubes, but nothing except the tire. So I get off on Paseo Del Norte and I'm cruising at about 70 and I hear this dragging noise so I looked in the side mirror and saw a yellow piece dangling at first I thouth it was one of the skirts, but turned out to be the bumper. Pulled over and got out to inspect the damages and to reclaim my bumper from the middle of the road thinking please don't let no one hit it and please don't let it be the cause of an accident. Luckily neither happened.

So I got it out the road and pulled it up the car, the left side of it is cracked where the screw was and then the metal bracket on the chasis itself is hanging from the car snapped in the same place it was before when I got hit in December or February, but I had repaired it with some good old JB weld. Luckily I had some of the retaining pins to hold the other side on. Now I just hope it doesn't fall off on the drive home. Gotta take the back roads which will make a normal hour commute into 2+ hours. But I'd rather that than chance getting on the free way and getting that wind under there again to snap it off again and this time maybe cause an accident.

that sucks, thats why i dont do body kits and neons, to much breakage, anyway the state will tell you that you have to replace it and that you take the risk by driving and its your financial responsibilty and that you drive at your own risk

You're just now realizing that?

And to make matters worse

I don't know if rolling over that tire caused such a jolt that it caused a problem in my fuel system cause on the way home the car kept cutting out. Wouldn't crank for like 10 minutes then it'd fire up drive for like 2 miles then get a fuel cut. On one of these many stalls I had someone look at my fuel guage while I cranked to see if it was getting fuel but nada. heard the pump prime every time but it take awhile each time before it cranked. Then finally I got tired of it and decided to pull the pump out on the side of the road but one of the nuts refused to turn and I ended up stripping it.

So I ended up calling my girl to bring out some more of my tools, but none worked, so I called one of my boys who has a set of sure grip sockets, but he had his children and couldn't come out so I ended up having to leave my girl with my car and take hers to go get them. Picked those up then stopped by one of my other boys house to pick up a fuel pump just in case and what do you know. One of the coolant lines in my girls car busted:( . So two cars down in one day so two cars I gotta work on tomorrow. At least I'll finally get a day off after working almost 2 months straight.

You have LED's under your car?

Yes sir

Men shouldn't wear skirts.

brought the 1st smile to my face for today

If it were something like a pot hole that bent a rim, popped a tire, damaged your car.. THEN youd have something to complain about. City cant do shit about tire debris.

Call CSI! Get DNA! Check for epithelials!

CSI rep: "Well, we've got dna from skunk, racoon, possum, snake, and a road hooker from dunkin donuts, but nothing from the driver."

Fuck retreads. Those things are so dangerous.

But it's a company... profit > safety.

:werd: :withstupid:
i was on the highway behind a truck when it had a retread shit out
the whole truck swayed and almost took out the car next to it
i was able to swerve into the center breakdown lane and avoided the flying strip of tire
the car behind me ended up taking it to the hood/windshield/A pillar and got pretty fucked up

fuck retreads
