IM having problems with my 98 4door i converted to obd1 with a phearable jumper harness and p28 ecu. I can eccel fine, and deccel fine, but if i try to keep a steedy speed it jerks, and blurps, even back fires out the intake manifold? i moved the distributor a little bit and it helped, if the motor is cold it want go at all it has to be warm, and when its warm i have to rev it to the moon just to get it started going? Its not throwing any codes and im getting alot of play in the gas, its adjusted right but it takes a minute for the gas to kick in, i have about an half inch of play and then the throttle just hits. any help would be great

yes, i forgot to meantion what started this problem i had the bright idea of puting a y8 intake manifold on my car which caused the problem. so i spent more money thinking obd 1 would solve the problem by eliminating some sensors. but i installed an 60mm integra throttle body from a 95 obd1 on the y8 manifold once i plugged up obd1. the tps has been tampered with before.

60mm TB is plenty too big, but I'd say the problem is in the TPS.

i had my ecu tuned to except the 60mm, i got the ecu from phearable.net, and whatever they chip them with is what it has. i just have simple bolt ons. i think they chip or tune with uberdata.

So you have a Y7 with a Y8 intake manifold, is that right? Why did you convert to OBD1 for that? It's basic and really requires no wiring mods - if you keep the stock t/b or use one from a Y8 auto trans model. And why are you using a P28 if you are non-VTEC?

Are you using the original Y7 injectors? If so you should know they are 180cc and the P28 ecu is mapped for 240cc. Did you do the IACV wire conversion? All these are potential factors, on top of the TPS issue which is also a valid point.

I had the EXACT problem on my 99 civic dx ... cause: exposed wiring = harness grounding out.

Or, maybe your not getting a good vacuum signal?

d16y7 motor

Hey wuz up guys......i have a question about the d16y7 motor. If anybody can help me. I have a d16y7 motor and i want to swap it into my del sol. But the problem whit this motor is its a obd2 motor. And my 1993 del sol chassi is obd1. So i was thinking if i swap over a alternator, distributer, ecu, and injectors that are obd1 will everything fit okay. And if so will the d16y7 still run good.

You can use a 96-98 integra LS harness and it will run fine.
Or yes, you can swap over all the things mentioned and it will run fine.
