Your turbo car will last as long as you want if you put the right amount of money and time doing it. If you go cheap , yeah there is more chance that it won't last. Get a good turbo and most important someone that knows what he's doing and a good tuner that going to tune it on the safe side if it's going to be your DD. Don't get crazy about big number. 170-200 whp is more than enough for street driving. Make sure you know exactly what you want and what you can do (money). It doesn't make any sense to set a goal and not be able to reach it. If i was you i would just go with the Greddy bolt on turbo kit for your car http://greddy.com/products/display/?Category=turbo&SubCategory=15. You won't need to upgrade internals unless you want to do it . I know people here will tell you to make your own setup with homemade turbo but play on the safe side . Greddy and others like trubonetic are brands you can trust. If they made a turbo kit for your application you can rely on.

First i would answer the following question: Do i really need a turbo?

Hope that helps.

turbos are like anything else, if you take care of it and dont always abuse then then they last longer.
you cant miss a single oil change when your turboed.
and if you dont hammer the shit out of it everywhere you go then youll be fine.
and it depends upon the quality of the turbo also.
DONT get one off ebay.

Full-Race Motorsports LLC "Everything Else is Half Fast"
Stage 1 AC Turbo Kit is designed for the entry level racer who has no intentions of heavily building their motor, and MUST keep AC. Stage 1 gives great throttle response but does not have the top end pull that is found on a larger sized turbocharger. The stage 1 kit uses a 57 trim turbo for B18B1 and B16A1 engines or a 60 trim on B18C1 and B18C5 engines.
if you dont..build your own

how much boost can you run on a b18c1 stock internals? and i think the compression ratio's are different when you compair the usdm b18c1 and the jdm b18c1

they will last for a long time...if u stay out of boost with prpoer tuning...u can go out of town or even drive to work everyday...
