I'm getting a 00 b18b obd2b to put into my 97 b18b obd2a integra... I've been told it's a direct swap, using the new motor harness and keeping my wiring harness/obd2a ecu. Any more information? I don't want to go into this and have to spend alot more money than planned. Any info is appreciated.

just use your cars stock harness and buy a 60 dollar jumper from a to b

Take the engine out of the car, remove all the wires from the engine that you just took out of the car and set them aside, this is your engine harness.

Take you new engine and take all the wires off it and toss them or sell them

install the wiring harness you took off your old engine onto the new engine and then put it in your car.
don't touch your ecu, it does not have to be changed, nor do you need a jumper harness or any other crap.

wrong wrong

Ok, ahhvtec, why do I need a jumper then? If I am using all the components from my old engine, it should be the same connections... Other than some "tach test" that won't be connected to my ecu anyways... What exactly am I jumping? I'd appreciate more information than just "you need a jumper." Thanks in advance.

the ecu are diffrent obd2a and obd2b are diffrent

Right, but the engine are not different, all he is doing is changing the engine, everything is the same between the engines except maybe the iac wires, he should just leave his stock ecu in it's place and use his old engine harness, it will plug right into the new engine.
