I am looking into buying a 1989 Integra LS for 600 bucks for the winter and I am wondering if the motor can be made into a VTEC. My other Accord and GSR are VTEC but i don't have much knowledge about Pre 1994 models...but just wondering if there is a way to make the motor in it a VTEC...thanks...

Yeah, swap out the D16 for a B16/18. You can't do any type of hybrid with a VTEC head on a D16A1. The only way to get a VTEC motor in there would be to put a whole VTEC motor in there.

ok thanks...I don't got money for a motor swap...maybe a B16 sometime...but I already got a b18 in my GSr...thanks for the info...

If I wanted to get a few minor aftermarket parts for the motor...would parts from a D16 work on it?

I'm not quite sure honestly. I'd assume that stuff like an intake or header would probably work. I'd try and find some guys who are running ZC swaps in the Civics or CRXs and ask them where they get their parts.
