I have a 92 prelude h23 stock. recently found some cash i can get my hands on and wanted to put up a rough draft of the mods I'm looking at to see if i can get some feedback:
tokico hp shock set (4) $296
sjunk2 racing coilover kit $265
tanabe sustec rear strut bar $99
neuspeed front strut bar $75
energy suspension poly bushings $165
megan racing ss header $149
a'pexi world sport2 exhaust $379
aem v2 short ram $269 (don't want CAI)
revo short shift adapter $29
total $1726 i'm sure they'll cut a break on shipping (they did for a friend of mine)
then will look for h22 head $???

Why not just get Megan Racing coils?? Full adjustability, and its all one system. Around $800 but will be worlds above the tokico & skunk combo.

tanabe sustec rear strut bar $99
neuspeed front strut bar $75

The strut bars seem like a decent idea . . .maybe you could pick them up used for cheeper (ebay?). Also, the energy susp. bushings are a bitch to put in. I would avoid getting those unless you are planning to totally rebuild every part of your car's suspension.

megan racing ss header $149
a'pexi world sport2 exhaust $379
aem v2 short ram $269 (don't want CAI)

Excellent choices. CAI's suck, unless your car is thirsty.

revo short shift adapter $29

Cant speak on the quality of this part, just make sure its reliable and wont break/snap under heavy driving conditions.

I cant advise on the H22 head, but i would say that the money spent on the head would be better spent on boosting your H23. Just ditch the megan header and go for boost.

Best of luck

thanks for the reply. trying to keep the cost at or under $2300. the turbo will come in time (tax return), just not in the budget.

Trust me you will be much happier with the turbo than the H22 head mod.

Also, you can do every mod you listed and not set yourself back (except the header) while you save up for some type of turbo setup.

You can turbo that motor for under 1500 for everything. I would suggest ditching anything exhaust or intake related if you even plan on turbo'ing down the road. Its just wasted money man!

You're local man, just come holla at me! I can help you build a kit for that car and I have a good basemap already too.

On the other parts:
Skip the cheater coilovers, get a decent set of springs and you will be fine.

The Tokico shocks you listed are equivelant to the KYB GR2's(i think), and the KYB's are a bit cheaper.

The Ebay strut braces work fine when welded up, I didnt notice a HUGE difference with them on my car you can prolly hold off on them until other power mods are added.

Poly bushings are nice but VERY pricey to get the whole set installed sometimes!! Check on that before you buy them......

Another note: H23 is 8.8:1 Compression right?? Pointless to do ANY NA mods on that car or any car with THAT low of a CR. Boost or juice is the way!!

would like the boost, have concerns with the engine though. 177k on it. would like to do rods and possibly pistons before boost to keep it safe. believe compression is 9.8:1 will double check on engine list here.

I boosted my accord motor at 180K, it last about 20K running 17psi. If you run 8-12 with a Mitsu turbo it will be fine and hold up.

If you want cheap, DSM Manifold and a Big 16G. I dont think a 20G will fit there using the DSM manifold, my big 16G was a tight fit.

You can get the mani dirt cheap off of a DSM site and big 16G new is only 450. Then a piping kit (85), FMIC (200), DSM Injectors (100-200), Socketted P06 ECU (175). You get the idea.....

175-450+ HP T3/T04E 0.63/0.60 A/R 54 trim Standard 475$ Watercooled 500$???????????????????? GOOD DEAL SEEMS LIKE A DECENT TURBO OR THIS

Garrett stage 3
T31/T04E 57trim

0.63 a/r turbine 649$ watercooled 699$

I would suggest a T28 or a 16G if you do not plan on building the internals.

You can get one of those for $175ish . . . .

But do your homework before you get too crazy. There is a lot of good info on HMT.
