hey guys, i was looking into swapping a b18b into my 88 crx hf, i came acrossed a guy that has a full swap for 700. just wanted some feedback on if it's a good motor, and if it's an easy swap, if any problems with those motors or anything to look out for on the swap? if anyone has a parts list to get it into the car it would most helpfull. thanx bob

what does he mean when he says "full swap"?

parts needed:
mount kit for b series into ef- $100 for cheapO's off ebay, $200 to $300 for good billet mounts (azracemachine.com or hasport.com need conversion for hydro tranny- see * below)
integra axles- check local parts house
integra rear mount bracket- should come with integra motor, if not junkyard.
shift linkage for b series into ef (ebay)- $100

the b18b is obd1 so you will need:
obd0 to obd1 jumper harness ($110 from rywire.com)
*the cable to hydro tranny conversion mount (or get a cable tranny whichever)

i think thats it but i may be forgeting something.

the b18b is a good engine to swap into an ef. good for boosting and doing a ls/vtec. leaves you with a lot of options. its a pretty easy swap to do, as long as you can trust the guy and know hes not selling you a blown motor.

i was told it was an obd o, not obd 1, it from a 91 integra. is the guy that told me this wrong? and it's a cable tran, i'm confused now!

i think the b18a actually carried over into 94 ...

if its a b18b then its obd1 or 2. you should go look at it before attempting to buy it. do you know the guy personally?

well i went today and got it! it's a b18a1, it came motor, trans, axles, ecu, spindles, new timeing belt, new water pump and new gaskets all around with 66,000 miles on it for $700. it looks like it's in good condition i hope the swap go's well, can someone tell me the wiring changes that need to be made? thanx bob

youll need your crx harness and i think thats all I hope it works almost sounds to good to be true

damn, if its a good motor then thats a good deal.
before you go ripping your old engine out, take that one to a shop and have it leakdown and compression tested. just to make sure. that way you know its good.
