RETIRED
I went in this morning for an oil change.

Cool things: they can read everything about the car from the key fob. I didn't have to bring in my registration, or try to remember my mileage. I thought that was cool. didn't know it stored info on it.
Free coffee :)
leather sofa and an 40" ish widescreen HDTV in the lounge. I almost passed out. lol
washed AND vacuumed my car
replaced my wiper blades (i don't think they even needed it..)
topped off all my fluids like washer, etc
adjusted my e-brake (feels tighter)
adjusted my brakes (feel tighter)
adjusted my clutch (grabs sooner)

all for the whopping price of $0.

i guess my car is still under warranty, even though i bought it used. haha

score ftw. its like a brand new car again :)

The key fob thing is neat. But if you were without that warranty, you would be crying from that bill right now.

Cool.

Just got the jeep serviced yesterday. No leather couch, small tv, free coffee (It was labled "coffee" anyway, not sure what it really was) got an oil change, topped off all of my fluids, greased up the suspension, rotated the tires, inspected everything, got a clean bill of health.

$35.00 out the door.

how much info is on that key fob. I don't think your the type of person to lose things, but if that were to be stolen could it cause problems?

Naa, it only holds his car info, every time he's broken the speed limit or ran a stop sign.. That time that he cut off that grandmother and flipped her off, cackling like a maniac (it captured video on that one), his name, dob, ssn, medical records, dental records, those horrible things he did when he was a kid, and detailed records of his deepest fears and freakish fetishes.

Nothing that could be used against him.

*shrug* BMW was always nice, but I got the same treatment from Honda. I only had to ask for the car wash... they didn't replace the wiper blades, but they've only been used a few times. Now, the oil change was free, as was the Starbucks and ice cream (for the kids, I'm guessing). Although, I'm not sure about my key. Don't think it's as cool as yours, but they didn't ask for anything other than the key. :)

I agree with Steve... you'd be crying right now if it weren't for the warranty. :D Well, maybe not...

i fully expected to pay 160 bucks for the oil change (the oil itself is 12 bucks a quart wholesale).

as for the keyfob, i'm pretty sure if i lost it it wouldn't be a big deal...
i bet it saves it when you turn the car off. so a new key would (after being programmed) store the car's info after i turned the car off again.
i have a 2nd key and a valet key anyway :D

...but you bought a brand new car. They should take care of those sort of things for you.

His car is ... 4 years old? Yet, they're still giving him the finest of treatment.

Everyone is so pessimistic and has their own tidbits to add, just let the guy enjoy the fact that he paid a lot of money to enjoy these sort of perks from a high end car.

what kind of oil do they use? Mobil 1 0-30? I'm curious... because I knew someone who worked for Berberian (Volvo, BMW, and Mercedes) and he said they used Mobil 1 0-30. Just wondering if it's all over or just their choice for that specific dealer.

totalburnout- yes, I agree, but since it's warranty for 7 years... they should do that for me EVERY year for about the same time as he got his car? I'm impressed, I wouldn't have expected it either if I were him. It's pretty awesome. :)

i honestly didn't even think i had a warranty, let alone a trasferrable one.... my car was NOT even CPO'ed.

Which is what makes it so awesome when they tell you 'your grand total is... to go sit on the couch and wait for us to finish. Thank you!'

Castrol TWS Motorsport 10W-60
i believe this is s54 (m3 motor code) specific.

i bought my car from a land rover dealer 40 miles away, and not associated with a bmw dealership at all. I just had to sign the warranty paperwork.

See, now that makes more sense. I guess I didn't ask about the M... I was just surprised that they used such a thin oil. Thank you for the clarification. :)

who cares? I'm chipped anyway...

factory speed limiter is 155, mine is removed from the chip.
