Wow. I just watched that entire thing. Some serious eye openers there... But it is very clearly the views of one person. And the views are skewed very much in his favor. "99.9% of serial killers eat bread" kinda thing.

Although I am very surprised that they were able to get free health care in cuba, that had my eyes bugging out of my head. They didn't show the slums of cuba where people are living 15 people to a 10'x10' shack with no plumbing at all. Then again, you can find the same crap in the US if you look around.

It was a very interesting documentary, anyway. Lots of good points.

Sicko is a new movie in the theaters. It was taken down because of serious copyright problems.

Michael Moore threads, by their very nature, turn political.

However: To modify a Celerity Post (I know this is Taboo, but I wrote Celerity's Law and dammit - I can break it)

Sicko isn't really a pro-left or anti-right movie. It points out that EVERY GODDAM PERSON is at fault here. Big Business is corrupt, politicians (regardless who they represent) and lawmakers are corrupt as fuck.

Thats true, especially when they were listing off who was paid what, down to the penny, to pass various medical and prescription drug bills..

But now he's wrong on many levels, instead of just politically.

1 in 10 people in Cuba are doctors because it's stupid easy to be a doctor. You're not held to any of the regulations that the US is.

Ask anyone that's gotten care in a socialist healthcare system. And compare what people pay in taxes to maintain that system. It just doesn't make sense.

On the other hand, getting insurance is tough if you have a pre-existing condition. That's bullshit. again, this isn't the fault of american Law, but it's the fault of the selfish insurance company that exists.
