1990 HF check engine light

It flashes 12 times, then pauses, then 12 flashes, then pauses and so on.

What code is this and what is the fix?

1990 Honda CRX HF stock 222,000 miles

Car Starts and runs good, gets about 40 MPG. So I do not know what this is effecting

dont just count the flashes.

should flash long, then short. example: 2 long flashes and 3 short flashes is code 23.

code 12 is for the EGR system on the HF - on all 88-91 Civic/CRX ECUs (except for JDM VTEC ECUs) you do just count the flashes - they only have short flashes, not long and short
