IGN: Gran Turismo 5 Trailer, Videos and Movies

No doubt this game makes Forza 2 look pretty dated.

I say that because I own Forza 2 and even the demo that came out last year of GTHD made Forza 2 look meh.

don't get me wrong Forza is a good game but it does have a feeling of last gen attached to it.

GT5 needs to work on crashes!!!!!

gt5 doesn't have crashes, motor swaps, and it's too technical for me.

that clip was all video. everybody knows that video always comes before gameplay clips and the video is way better.

So im sitting here writing this and watching the video, first thing i notice is the guy driving the car, car sounds shifting sounds, but he doesnt even touch the shifter, nor does he have paddle shifters, but dont get me wrong it was great graphics, i mean hell last GT that came out, if i remember right, all the fanboys were excited over NAWZ !! and that ghey ass lil backfire they got OMGZS LOKZ ITS A FIRE COMING FROM TEH TAIL AREA PIPE OHNOEZS THATS FUKIN KRUNK. please :(

not impressed. eye candy only.

forza is still leaps and bounds better. i guess my ps3 sits in the box longer.

Yeah, the opening to GT4 still excites me. When they get in game graphics to match that of the opening scene of GT4.. I'll be very impressed.

Can't wait for another GT though.. I'm an addict.

The Gran Turismo game line is all about the driving physics.. Its a simulator. The first few didn't even have drivers, and I could care less. I don't want to see my driver shift, I want the tires to grip and slip exactly as they would in real life.

I do wish crashing was available, not for the gore, but for realism.. You should have to pay for it when you slide into a wall or bump opponents in an unfriendly manner. Pit stops with car repair would be awesome. As would engine damage. You can't cook a 1200hp engine well beyond redline and win an endurance race doing so.. Random problems would be fun, too. Oil pressure drop? Do you pit? Do you consult your crew? Do you try to push it the last two laps of the race for the win? That would add alot of fun to the game, imho.

Trailers are gay, its like a movie of course it looks high quality. The trailer for Forza2 looked just as insane. They OF COURSE dont show you a vid of the acutal gameplay.......

Anyone who thinks it looks too good and is a CG video, go download the free GTHD demo game. It looks that good, it puts Forza 2 hands down, to shame, looks wise. too bad I can't find any HD clips of the GTHD demo.

Word on the street is GT is working on adding crashes.

on another note, a lot of people who play Forza 2 online turn crashes off because one jackass ends up messing up the whole race. Or they leave crashes on but turn the effects off so when you do break something it doesn't change how the car drives.

Do keep in mind I do have Forza 2 and I also have GTHD and plan to get GT5.
I'm not some random fanboy pulling shit out my butt. go check it out yourself, it's been a free download (GTHD) since last dec.

One thing I really dislike in the GTHD demo is how the track is roped off and the rope acts like a wall, any random guys watching the race wont even move if you drive towards them. =(

gthd definately looks great, but its severely lacking otherwise.
If you're talking about the GTHD demo.. well its a demo..... but as for GT5
Outside of neat things like engine swaps and paint jobs, when it comes to DRIVING how does it lack? Even some of the guys I play Forza with say they prefer GT over Forza but xbox live just rocks.

the perfect game to me has the following....

1) ease of play. getting too technical takes away from the fun.
2) cool cars that i could own. $500k cars do nothing for me.
3) crashes. yep, those are fun
4) engine swaps, simple mods, turbos and such. (like forza)
5) real tracks
6) good graphics

whichever has those, i'm likely to buy.

those are a little too arcady for me though. nawwwwsss buttons and blur are annoying, ten flip wrecks piss me off, and the graphics are garbage.

i like the old GT's, only played forza a couple times. i just don't like having to tune my cars or take 10 license tests just to play.

GT really needs to either put in a formula 1 class or get rid of that one formula one car that pwns *.

What fun is it if you have no compeition whatsoever. And they should match your competition to your car. I can build a honda that no other honda in the game can touch, but the only other place it will allow me to race it is in unlimited classes with the lemans cars where it gets spanked.

Played a gt-5 demo at the gaming store few weeks ago. the detail is amazing. I coud see the dials on the stereo through the back window between the seat. Looks really good and controls better.

Oh and the days of only 6 cars on the track at a time are gone. Yeah they taken it to the next level with this game.

burnout 3 is hella fun (ps2 though) and the crashes are always mucho destructive. but take it with a grain of salt, its no simulator. i play it more than GT4.

and GT3/4 does have formula classes, i remember playing them, and you race again all formula cars, very evenly matched. you literally had to do every lap perfect or you would fall too far behind to catch up.
