well I never got my property tax bill this year (sent out in feb), it's been a hectic year so I didn't think about it untill now. so I called up my tax collectors office only to find out I'm in the penality phase tax went from 295.85 to 325.34, and it seems that there is nothing i can do about it. I'm waiting for the head of the tax assessors office to call me back now. they said it was mailed out in feb, but i never got. the 30 bucks isn't the point, it's the fact that i have to pay cause of someone elses f*ck up. I'd like to the tax assessors office but I have overtime this week and it's not worth losing over 30 buck. guess i''ll have to bend over and take it, and pay extra cause of someone elses mess up

From my experience, notices are nothing more than a courtesy. It's still your responsibility to pay your bills on time.

how it normally goes between customer and service provider is: service is rendered, payment is required for said services, bill is furnished, check is written.

I know it's a small amout of money ~ $30 diffrence but it's the principel of the whole thing. Anyway the check is in the mail should be there by thursday. As soon as the divorce is finished I'll refinance the existing mortgage and put an escrow account on it and call it done. should be close to tier 1 credit by then anyway.

one of the reasons I bought where i did. affordable housing, good schools, low taxes and it's nice small town america. I don't mind the taxes, i know that they are low. I'm just unhappy at having to pay extra because of someone elses screw up, it's the principel of the whole thing. BTW I bought the house for $69,900, taxes are still low, but the value that's being taxed is low also. Our governer sucks here to. we just recently got gambeling leagel in the state, the tax revenue was supposed to go towards tax reliefe, instead it went to build the pittsburg penguins a new stadium FTMFL.
