I am about to swap a B16A2 in a 93 cx hatch. Now I was wondering If its possible for me to use the B16A2 obd2b harness and keep the car obd2 for a little while. I know on the passenger side it is one piece and the harness goes straight to the ecu. Now my question is, are the connectors on the driver's side going to match up? If not what can I do to keep the obd2 harness on the car?

I am assuming you are getting the engine out of a 2000 civic si:
I would keep the car obd1 and forget about the obd2 crap
Use the b16 engine harness, it should plug right into your stock vehicle harness.
do the modifications to the vehicle harness for vtec, 4 wire o2, knock sensor (there are writeups in the refrence section) and get a p30 obd1 ecu.
use the mounts, axles, shift linkage and radiator from the 00 civic if you have the parts available.
It is beyond me why anyone would want to go through the hassle of messing up the car's vehicle harness to go to obd2

yea i know its better to use OBD1 and that's what i'm gonna use. I just want to use the original obd2 b harness that came with the motor so I can have a clean swap. Then i'd just put a jumper harness at the end with a neptuned p28.
I've done an ITR swap in a 98 hatch and used the dx harness and wired everythign else and looked like shit. I just want a clean swap with no cut or spliced wires.

the p28 is obd1 right? if so you wouldn't need any jumper harness, the b16 engine harness form the 99-00 civic si is a direct plug and play with all obd1 civics (except the Vx)

I understand that obd2 is different that obd1 I am an ASE master certified technician with over 15 years in the business 12 of which has been spent working on hondas, don't try to talk to me like I am a moron and listen to what I am saying.
The engine harness that is on the b16a2 (99-00 civic si) is a direct plug-in for 92-95 honda civics, there is no need to change anything on your car to accept the engine (except if you own a Vx which isn't the case here, For example if you have a complete donor 2000 si, all you do is unplug the engine 2 plugs on the driver's side right by the clutch master cylinder resivoir and either 3 or 4 plugs (off the top of my head) on the passenger side right on the shock tower , pull the axles and shift linkage, disconnect the exhaust manifold from the cat, and pull the whole thing out of the car, then you simply drop it into any 92-95 civic put the axles and shift linkage back in and it will run and drive. The great thing about doing a swap into a Cx is that you eliminate the cat since it is manifold mounted on the cx engine. No need to change mounts or anyhting.
Since you have a Cx it is equipped with only a 1 wire o2 sensor and does not have wiring for vtec or the knock sensor. In order to make it work 100% you will have to run wires from the ecu to various spots on the cannon plugs where the engine plugs in so it will work.
here is the artical for the 4 wire conversion: https://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/1-wire-4-wire-o2-conversion-32519/
Here is a link for the vtec and knock: https://hondaswap.com/swap-articles/obd1-b-series-wiring-guide-29111/
Finally, the p28 ecu is obd1 I looked just to make sure, you will not need to modify anything on the 93 civic in order to plug it right in.
If you have any other questions post back.
Also, just about anyone here on hondaswap can vouche that I know what I am talking about (unless I am really tired which happens from time to time) so please do not offend me with inane remarks.

i thought the obd2 civics used a one piece harness and the 92-95 civics used a 2 piece like the 94-01 tegs

they are using the 1 piece harness. that's why I just run it through the firewall and plug the P2T ecu in (for now, p28 with tuning and jumper harness coming soon)....

Ok, you're a honda mechanic, I am too but not with near as much experience as you... but that's not what we're talking about here. You're telling me that I will need to wire knock sensor and vtec wires. They already come on the B16 harness. I'm finishing tomorrow and i'll just wait and tell you how it goes tomorrow.

the problem you are going to have is that you can't just pull the passenger side harness out of a 93 cx like you can an EK,
it runs through the whole vehicle behind the dash, over to the fuse box and toward the rear of the car. You will see what I mean when you go to do it. the car won't run right. if at all. Go ahead and try t your way, if you get it to work somehow please post it for others who may do the same thing.

I am doing a swap of an B16a2 from a 2000 civic si into my 95 Honda Civic CX. I am using the harness that came with the engine but the engine harness that comes out the passenger side does not connect to the stock tower mounts and the connectors on the drivers side do not fit either. Does any one have a better way or help and please it is not helping when you say it is just plug and play.
