Watanabe Whore!!!
Rest In Peace
yup...Airjockie has left the Earth again....:D

me and the wife drove down to Greenich today, and it was prolly the nicest day of the year....no clouds, slightly cool, and just a damn near perfect day. And I felt bad because I was stuck in a damn car and drove 160 miles while I could be doing something fun. And the wife mentioned that it would be a great day to fly...and I concurred. So, after we got home, unloaded the car, and got ready again...we went down to the local airport that is less than a mile from my house, and went in to see if they were offering rides today. They said we have to book a ride a week in advance, and the fee was $90 for an half hour, and $180 for an hour. So we left the flight desk and I went looking around the FBO at some advertisments for aircraft for sale.

Then this old guy came up to me, he overheard what our wants was, and he said for us to show up two hours later. His wife was using his plane for some lessons. So I asked him how much, and he said he'd take us up for the price of gas. And it was only fair, since the FAA regulated joy rides. Anyways, we called him and asked him if one more person was ok to go with us, and he said yes... So the wife called her friend and she came up, and we all went to the airport.

Got there, he was just waving to his wife good bye, and then he told us to jump in. Cranked up the engine, and my headset was dead, we played with the radios for a bit, and got to the point that I had a dead mic, and everything else worked. Take was sweet, flew over my house, and we headed south east. Then he handed me the controls and told me where to go...I flew from Meriden, to New Haven, up to Mystic, over to Hartford, and then back to Meriden...an hour flight, and circled half the state. $60 out my pocket.:p

It felt good getting back in the air again...if I have some money extra after the house is rebuilt...then time to finish up my private pilots license....

pics will be later when the wife posts them up.

just a teaser.....:p

Sweet dude, my roomate has a PPL and is about to get his IFR rating. It's kinda funny to tell people you are gonna go to M. Vineyard for breakfast and tell them it's only a 25 minute trip, lol.

He also just upgraded to a different plane out of Quonsett Point. Glass cockpit, 180hp and its a true four seater. The plane is about $160/hr, but split 3-4 ways, it's not bad.

hook me up with some info clayton so that soon i may start pursuing my private aircraft license.
