i just got into the tuner world and i wanna built my del sol and i wanna know what i can do to it without going turbo to bring my numbers up significantly. and im going to be doing this over a long time so money is not a prob (ill just do it as i get the money) but if anyone has anything to teach me or can give me some advice on what to do please pm me and tell me what i can do. thank alot.

your best bet would be to start reading, go into the refrence section and check out the writeups for different builds

i really dont wanna spend the money to turbo the d16 kuz i want to do the k24 swap and im gonna buld that engine and try and see if the del sol would be a good rally car but idk if theres anything else i would do without going turbo please tell me i would really appriciate it

You want to drop a K24 and then try to rally your Del Sol?

:slap:

Do you have any clue how much that's going to cost? And why would you want to rally race a Del Sol anyway? If you want to rally then sell the Civic and buy a Subaru...

And if you really want to build a motor the right way, you don't do it a little bit at a time, you meticulously plan the whole thing out, and then you pull the motor from the car and build it all at once. If you're serious about a motor build then you need to buy another car for a daily driver because your project car is going to see some serious downtime.

Something else you need to realize is that racing isn't just about horsepower, especially when you're talking about something like rally. You need to think about your suspension, wheels, transmission, etc. just as much as your engine. Clearly you have no clue what's realistic when it comes to engine building, tuning, and racing. You need to read, read, read, read, read! And when you're done with that, go back and read some more just for good measure...

How much power do you want? You can get up to 170whp for around $3k without forced induction.

170who for 3k .... thats jyust fucking stupid... 3k for turbo and get about 250 whp,

btw im drunk and dont care what I am wrint ing right now .

Ok, no turbo, but you said you wanted to bring your numbers up significantly so Intake Header and Exhaust isn't gonna cut it. However you will need them later on when the motor is built, these are known as supporting mods and you should get that out of the way first.
Then you will have to start collecting parts for your build. Here is where you decide if you want to do it cheap and have an engine with decent power (for all motor) or spend the cheese to build it right.

Cheap:
Stock rods, ZC/D16A1 pistons (or mill the head/block which would require adj. cam gears), Cheap cam (OBX or something else from Ebay), LS throttle body,

shit at this point I realize you're better off doing your own research, there are too many variables to consider.

Just go turbo.

yeah about the suspension thing i have max speed lowering and stifining coil overs but idk if those will be good for rally so i think im just gonna go b16 and buld that and do fwd rally (i dont really like awd all too much but my bro said thats the way to get most of the power but talking to you guys i think im either just gonna go b16 fwd rally or time trials and drag maybe) how much power could i get from a b16 with maybe a greddyt3 turbo

were do you think i could get a b16 (new preferably).

New? Uh...they quit making b-series motors over 5 years ago...none of the B-swapped cars that you see driving around have brand new engines in them...

You can probably order a new block, head, and transmission from a Honda dealership, but you're gonna pay out the ass for it. It would probably be cheaper to buy a used motor and have it rebuilt then to buy new stuff from a dealership.

Just buy a used motor from a reputable company like H-Motors (Specializing in JDM-USDM Engines & Parts...hmotorsonline.com). They have low mileage engines in good shape and they offer start up warranties. Just tell them that you want a complete B16 swap, and then tell them exactly what kind of car it's going into (year, model, etc.) and they will hook you up with the correct motor, tranny, ecu, and any other parts like mounts or wiring that you will need.
