RETIRED
i want to make these lemon bars. i'm hungry and have nothing in the house.

it calls for 3 eggs and water.

water, check.
eggs.... check... but the sell by date on them is aug 8th

its aug 20th.

should i throw the eggs out and go hungry, or is the sell by date close enough that using 3 eggs will be ok?

thoughts?

i think you will be ok

Eggs From A To Z -Expiration Date

Fresh shell eggs can be stored in their cartons in the refrigerator for four to five weeks beyond the carton’s Julian date with minor loss of quality. Once an egg begins to age, it loses moisture through its porous shell and begins to dry. The membranes that hold the egg structure begin to loosen and the yolk may not be anchored in the center of the white once the egg is broken. An older egg would be most appropriate for a mixed dish, a batter or a hard cooked egg which should be easier to peel than a freshly laid egg.

They're eggs. If they smell like baby shit, they're probably bad. Other than that, I'd say go for it.

I DONT CARE, do you see me caring? nope i dont thinks so oh and its nothing personal with you or nothing i just think....ITS A RETARDED QUESTION

how is it retarded?

i'm not a chef....

SELL BY does not mean "eat by" they don't tell you how long you have to eat them after you remove them from the store

Way to post it up in the right forum....

My aunt has chickens and picks fresh eggs daily.

Eggs that are sitting out can last a few weeks. in a refrigerator she said she's had them last almost a year.

Sale by date? F that, use your nose. the USDA can suck eggs.

Most countries outside of North America leave their eggs out on the counter top, yet in the US if you leave eggs out and they get warm OMG!!! call the police someones gonnnnna dieeeeeeee.

pansies I tell ya....

Main thing you'll notice is the fresher the egg, the firmer the yoke, it wont break as easily when trying to split the yolk from the whites, when they get older the yolk will break more easily.

It's unhealthy? what if you make it with olive oil?
As with most things, it's all in moderation.
very true. i don't really use it on too much stuff to make it myself though. pretty hamburgers and for sandwiches.

ignoring the fact that he is the owner of the site... its just plain fucking rude to pop into a thread and call someone retarded for asking a question... fucking 12 year old emos...

Balut is cooked fully, USDA says thats ok. Serving an egg under cooked... oh DEAR GOD!
