Intake manifold

are you sure you are ready for an intake manifold? it's far down on the list of "to-do" mods on a honda/acura.

Skunk2 mani=OBX mani
They are both made in the same factory in China. The Skunk2 costs more because it has a skunk2 sticker.

IMO you should get a larger throttle body and have someone who is knowledgeable do a mild port on your stock intake mani and head.

its pointless to port the stock manifold.. it'd be better to have his throttle body port matched to an aftermarket manifold

actually, I'm willing to bet he's running a very mild amount of modifications (as far as Comp ratio, and valvetrain upgrades) so an aftermarket manifold would be overkill and he would see more gains from a mild port on his stock mani.

To the OP:
Which D-Series intake mani are we talking about, they vary greatly.

well, if thats the case.. why even bore the throttle body?? he could buy a b16 throttle body and gain 4mm for about $25-30

a $600 manifold might as well be invested into a turbo kit instead. i think an all motor d series is pointless. if it is a dd and good on gas, leave it alone. if you want to race, turbo it or build NA from the block up. we still don't even know what this guy wants to do with the car.

do we ever know what they wanna do? they never tell us then it turns into a huge arguement.. hahah

i love it when the only post someone has in a whole thread is the opening post. thats part of the reason i don't post much tech anymore.

ok sorry i haven't replied...don't check my post every hour like some people do...look this is what my plans are...as of right my car is modded to this degree: cat-back exaust, eagle forged connecting rods, srp low comp pistons, t25 turbo kit with trust intercooler and piping(turbo went to shits, getting another one), 410cc blue top injectors, hks sequential bov, seibon carbon fiber hood, grillcraft grill, black housed headlights, dual stage boost controller. I am now working on cleaning up the car. Plan on getting some sort of polished intake manifold, rear disc brake conversion, fuel rail, bride or recaro seats (can't decide yet), mugen front lip, rota slips, si sideskirts, si stock taillights or leds (not sure yet). only drawback to my car is is that it's an automatic. Anything I didn't answer?

Honestly, for that small of a turbo, you probably won't see too much gain with a bigass intake manifold. I'm going to be boosting upwards of 30psi on a D-series and I'm sticking with the Skunk2 intake manifold. Also, you aren't going to see any gain at all with a fuel rail - there are 600whp cars out there running the stock fuel rail. I've personally made around 300whp on the stock fuel pump/fuel rail/fuel pressure regulator. Aftermarket fuel rails are a waste of money unless you're making rediculous power, and even then it's a stretch.

Also, I thought the blue-top DSM's were 450cc?
