I just picked up a 93 accord sedan for $700 from a close friend. The motor has about 200k on it. The body and interior is in decent shape. I have built a few civics in my day but I am a total novice to anything accord. I am interested in dropping in an f20a in the comming months. Can anyone recommend any improvements? I would like to do some more things to increase value and fun in the car. Any intellegent retorts or criticism's are welcome.

Are you people serious? I understand this topic would be get about the same response in my friends garages as well. I figured since the word of mouth for this forum has been so good over the past few years I would atleast get a hello or welcome. I guessed wrong

An F20A isn't really much of an upgrade. If you're going to go through the trouble of swapping I'd at least do an F22B/H23 and get yourself a dual cam motor to work with. If your pockets are deep I'd look towards an H22 swap, tranny included.

Personally, I'd build a big ass ramp, get several friends with digital video cameras, cage it, pack the interior full of pillows, don a full face helmet, and lauch that sucker at 100mph. Post that on YouTube and link it here, we'll be all frickin over it.

Fodo accords don't really spark much interest.

And Welcome to Hondaswap!!

IMO the most cost effective way to get power would be boost. As far as raising the value of the car, forget it. The car is 15(almost) years old.

Thanks for the insight. I figured as much from the car. The motor is tired and putting in another motor is not much of a big deal for me. My ultimate goal is getting the blue demon ( 91 hb ) out of my yard and grab up a 95 hb and do a crvtec. SO expect that in future. As for now, getting this sedan back into shape for daily driving and parts runs. Maybe throw on some SE alloys or something similiar. update the lights and clean it up. Anyone want to post their clean 4g?

the engine in that car will run damn near forever. I know of someone through a reputable source who had 475k miles on one

An auto accord sedan ain't worth too much hence you got it for $700. If its in good condition, why not do the h22 swap? - i think thats what going to do with my 93 coupe (which also is worth basically nothing at 15 years and 195,000 miles) - but the car is great shape and I like to to tinker. I say why not - at least it ain't a dime a dozen civic.

Give it a good cleaning and a full tune-up. Daily that, sell the 91 hatch, take that money + save for a bit, buy the 95 hatch, then sell/trade the accord for EG mods.

My thoughts exactly. But the 95 hatch is getting a 2.0 one way or another. Thanks again guys.
