I went out to my car one morning and it wouldnt turn over so i pulled the starter and noticed a gouge on it by the shaft that comes out to the flywheel and my pressure plate had a chunk off it too right where the starter was ive been racing at the strip and launching at 5500 rpm on the street with the crew, does anyone have any idea why some the bolts on my pressure plate are broken in half and some are bent and a chunk taken off the bell housing in the tranny< I have a b16 y1 cable tranny with a kaaz lsd an act 8.8 lb flywheel and exedy stage 2 clutch. Do you think launching the kaaz with my clutch and lightweight flywheel tweaked the bolts? Do i need stronger bolts(arp)? or should i take it to the shop? Ive never in my life heard of this so if you have please help

P.S. I did hit a curb kinda hard about two months ago, Would it affect it now

are those the original bolts ! maby it was not bolted down tight ennuf went you changed the clutch you chold check to make shre that all the bolts are tight !

And torque to spec. Don't over-tighten them or they'll shear.

Sad thing is, after breaking / bending the bolts like that you may need a new flywheel and crankshaft.

we did loc tite the bolts and wer torqued down, Im convinced that lightweight flywheel and clutch combo could'nt handle the kaaz. But anymore ideas please let me know

Im convinced that lightweight flywheel and clutch combo could'nt handle the kaaz.
i doubt that is it - we have a lightweight flywheel, with a welded diff, running 9.5" drag slicks and launching it at 8000 rpm and have no problems like that - we use an ACT Extreme pressure plate and ACT street performance disc

MAKE SURE TO TAP threads to remove debris and use loctite for a permanant seal
and torque in 2 sequence 1st is 17ft lb last is 19ft lbs GOOD LUCK!;)
