Injectors go where?

I think I posted that up before(or maybe on different site); "stand-off" injection on a race BMW. And yes, it's efficient. The secondary injectors come online in the higher RPMs where the higher intake velocity would benefit. With fuel injectors; the further back you put them, the more time they have to atomize(one of the reasons why Bisi uses carbs vs. injectors), especially in high RPMs.

If you've noticed; F1 cars have injectors outside of the velocity stack also. Then, there's some guy who gained like 6 or 16hp on a B16 by moving the injectors back+tuning.
 
Oh, i didn't know that they were secondary injectors. I can see how this would allow the fuel and air to mix more efficiently. However i thought that these were the primary injectors also and thought that alot of fuel would be lost(miss the intake tube) and cause funny air fuel mixtures in each cylinder.

There's so much negative pressure generated by the engine that all the gas gets forced into the velocity stacks, there's nowhere else for it to go. It just goes where the air is going and all the air is going through the engine.
