we just put my h22a in my 98 civic ex and it ran fine but felt like i had no power in low rpm's and this morning on my way to work my car runs like shit and felt like i was driving with my brakes on. the car wouldnt go unless vtec kicked in and then it went fast but other then that the car felt like i was towing a tractor trailer. what can be wrong?

******UPDATE******

When i wholeshot the tire will spin not even the whole way around and then the car bogs down and wont run smooth at allllllllll

*UPDATE*

check engine light is reading Code 12 Exhaust recirculation system

could my timing be off on my car? we didnt touch the timing when we did the swap but do you sometimes have to adjust it?

Please feel free to tell me what you think everyones opinion helps

dude, i had the same problem and i dont know what the hell fixed it.

I replaced the map sensor, egr valve, main relay, fuel pump, and got a chiped p28. One of those fixed it. Im willing to bet that it was the ECU though.

i will try the ecu tomorrow after work i hope it works, i am so bummed out right now i havent had my car for a month now

from what i understand its a fairly common issue with jdm h22s. This is probably the 30th thread ive seen since ive been on the board.

i got my motor from hmotorsonline.com and it came with an ecu, you think it could of been a bad ecu? i wont know until tomorrow if it works or not because thats when my friend gets back. i got a p13 now and im pretty sure he has the same

i had a p13 too, and it didnt start working right until i put in the chipped p28.

Just out of curiosity, how did you fit the H22 inside the civic chassis. I'm planning on going H22 in the near future.

it fit pretty nice with hasport mounts all we had to do was dent in the left side 2 inches below the motor mount about a half inch for the trannys accessories could fit, other then that who ever says it wont fit just doesnt want to lose to you

I Reported A Missing Oil Pressure Sending Unit Sensor And Gave Me One New Free Of Charge And Reported A Missing Knock Sensor Free Of Charge. You Pay What You Are Suppose To Get! Good Luck Man!;)

i used my friends p28 from his gsr and it made my car run smooth so that has to be the problem like everyone said im going to find a chipped p28 for the h22
