Tip toeing 1200 cc bikes

Backing out of my driveway, into a dip, I managed to get it over the dip and ready to go down the road.

Then moving forward I went over the dip again. Couldn't touch the ground, went right down.


Yeah, I dropped it.

I got the dogbones in the mail the next day.

It's at the shop now getting lowered. It's getting dropped 2" and then I'll raise it through the suspension to make up what's it's gone down to.

Yeah,I'm ok. It was actually my right leg that hurt afterwards (It fell to the left though) I guess from trying to save it. The whole thing is a blur now.

I damaged my plastics, but nothing serious. The engine case is scratched quite a bit, but it's a small cover that is readily available. The clutch lever, as expected, is broken (It's hard keeping that thing at bay with only my finger wrapped around the lever) and the huge mirror is scuffed. Nothing is "broken" except the lever.

By the time I got to that pole on Clayton's street I would be doing 60.

Yea, i almost dropped mine a few times, backing off the trailer the gate is steep as hell and right when i get to the bottom my feet dont touch i just let it roll out. quite a few times my dumbass turns while doing this. 400 pounds doesnt sound like alot until its at a 45.

I never dropped my bike. Had some close calls, but I was able to catch it.

I'm a bit bigger than cel, though.

I could bring the 250 down to the ground and back up while straddling it. It was no challenge.

This new one I can even hold better than I Did. It's just the inertia of the fall was added, and I totally lacked the power to keep it from inevitability.

I laid the bike down again this weekend. No damage this time, because it went down softly. But I think this width is too much for me.

I came to a stop, out of gas. I decided to go down the road, turned the bars to the right, the bike leaned left (Not an issue) but stupid ass me turned the bars to the left to recover it and it fell to the right.

Argh. I'm repairing it and getting something lighter. I love this bike too, but I do more city and casual cruising than 150+ mph highway runs.

find something light and easy. 1200 is a big bike. how much does it weigh?

Not much at all. It's 475, It's maybe 5% tougher to handle than a similar year ZZR6.

The way I'm thinking, I may just be one of those guys that likes small displacement bikes.

This bike is a thrill, but damn.. my 250 was.. really.. more fun to ride.

I have been on busas, zx14s, and several modded 600s.

There is a GOOD reason I still own and love the 250.

Highly rewarding, that's the term I'm looking for.

The 250 wouldn't keep up with anyone's bike. But at the end of 3 hours (When they're a tank down) I could keep going. No fatigue at all.
