i have actually a yr90 crx 1.5 dual carb and want to do an engine swap to a 1.5 soch vtec, the engine is from an eg4 civic hatchback!the civic is the donor car,so i can take everything a can from it.
am doing the swap myself!

questions are:
are looms sames?
what do i need from the vtec car?
are the mount same?
need technical help for the engine swap
am currently base in dublin,irland

The looms are not the same.
You will need a ecu that has VTEC the mounts are the same. Refer to a chiltons manual for removal and installation. It is easy. Research more.

its from a 92 eg4 model civic

ud need P28ecu and converted harness from obd0-obd1
look up in rywires.com for obd0-obd1 jumper converted its pricey tho
and the mount on engine are different u can change the mount standing near the timing crank take the old motor n put it in Vtec then it will bolt right on...are you gonna use cable tranny? it will bolt direct u will not have any problem with those:thumbsup:

the dual carbed cars did not have a high pressure fuel system needed to run the fuel injection - they used a low pressure sytem with mechanical diaphragm fuel pump run off the camshaft - you would need to swap the entire fuel system (tank, pump, lines, etc.) in order to convert to fuel injected

ok,i already stripped out the eg,take out everything, fuel pump, fuel tank, brake, the car is completely now,now going to take out the looms.
what you thing if i change the complete loom?
take out the complete loom from the eg and put in the crx?

you CAN do that, but its a helluva more work.

Just convert your DX DPFI harness to MPFI then wire up VTEC. Its not hard, there are plenty of write up on how to do so. But, You can change out the entire harness. You will have to redo your instrument cluster, though, it wont plug in. best bet is to convert your DX harness.

Oh yeah, and on the engine, use the mounts from the DX, and use you DX tranny. you WILL not be able to use the new tranny unless you do a cable to hyrdo conversion, which is expensive anhd pointless. Cable work better regardless.

thanks for your advice guys,
Its been a long time i haven't work on the crx as i got myself a 94 civic sir2 and a 89 vti box shape civic.
As for the crx i have the engine in the car but now need to sort out the interior looms, ie doors, lights and more important dashboard as am using the eg clock now ans all the ef conectoin is completely different from the eg!

Do you know where i can get an ef and an eg wiring diagram? so that i can match up both looms.

Cheers
Ashley
