Yea well its been a pretty crazy month or two. Little summary before I go into detail.

-I'm a non-drinker.
-I'm a non-smoker.
-I did spend some time in the hospital.

No one is dead, I still have my license and car so don't think anything like that. But that's just a taste because I literally just got the laptop working but I have to go to work.

So what have I missed otherwise?

If I can gt my scanner working I'll scan the hospital bracelets.

So to the story, Aug. 22nd was my best friend's 21st. I got hammered, just as he did. Well I had a terrible hangover the next day, I assumed it was the well vodka at the bar. I was still "hungover" 3 days later and hadn't been able to eat or drink anything the entire time. Finally one of my friends at school had had enough of me pretending nothing was wrong and brought me to the ER. They hydrated me, gave me morphine, and sent me on my way Sunday morning. I felt fine so I went to sleep.

Then I woke up around noon in serious pain again. That's when I went to the hospital at home, was admitted, and stayed til Wednesday. I had an Endoscope and a CAT scan. The final result was that I have, as the doctor put it, a lot of small ulcers and pretty bad acid reflux. But sitting in a hospital bed gives you a lot of time to think. Not only am I not allowed to drink for a few months but I don't think I'll be drinking anytime soon. The pros just don't out weigh the cons.

I had also pretty much stopped smoking anyway so stopping that wasn't that big of a problem. Honestly the hardest part so far is the diet. I can't eat anything spicy. Well guess what kind of food was my favorite before hand? But other than that, yea life is still pretty crazy back at school and with a new job.

Hi SoberboxTeggy...hope you feel better....

Keep that chin up mate.... Dont ulcers go away over time anyway???
Yea they do. I'm on Nexium. They should be gone in a few months. But I do feel great as of recently. Not drinking and a pretty healthy diet has been good to me. I've lost weight and have been told that it is really noticeable. But like I said before, I don't think I'll be drinking again anytime soon. Not only can it seriously irritate my stomach lining but alcohol has caused me to lose jobs, gfs, and girls on multiple occasions. Plus I have no problem just hanging out not drinking. I have my father's will power, if I say I'm not going to do something, I don't do it. The change has been drastic but I think this is what made it relatively easy.

I'm not vice-less though. I dip on occasion when out and bored, plus I'm not completely "smoke-less".

youre stronger than i am. no smoking, no drinking make reiko go crazy.

good for you man

wtg on the quitting, sorry to hear about the ulcers, but at least you know it COULD have been worse. Glad you're safe, sober, happy, and getting healthy. :) That's sexier than a slush box, anyway. But, I'm sure you're just as cool now as you were then. ;)

Cooler actually, haha. But like my doctor said, it was a blessing in disguise. If I had continued drinking like that I would have had a failing liver at 40 when I finally have "the good life", like a lot of her current patients.

But honestly since I stopped drinking the weight is falling off. If it continues I'll have my 6 pack back by the end of the month.

You're lucky and I'm happy for you. Keep it going, it will feel pretty good to show off your tattoos in confidence.

i'm a smoker and i think dipping is disgusting. lol

The whole, "you're going to lose half your jaw and tongue to cancer" thing is a good enough reason for most.

:concur:

if im going to get cancer i dont want to see it

I don't do it that often. I've had the same two tins since last semester and i still have more than one full tin between the two.
