Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I'm from Virginia Beach and I have a question for you guys. I have a 98 ITR engine that needs new piston rings and sine I will be replacing those, I'm going to buy new pistons as well. Now my question is: What kind of modifications will I need to do if I go for CTR pistons? Do I need to do something to the head? Get cams for that kind of compression? The engine is completely stock. I just want a bit more power. Or: should I go with oversized ITR pistons?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not trying to be an asshole but, if you don't know what to do once you get them...why do you want them?

What are your plans for the engine?

I never said I will be doing the work. I just want to know what are my options. Is there anything wrong with that?

Is there anything wrong with asking you why you want them and what your plans are? It makes it far easier for us to help you. ;)

If that's still not satisfactory, feel free to start reading like the rest of us did when we were new.

Here it goes: It is my daily driver and I just want to gain some HP. Nothing crazy. The engine is completely stock and right now I do not have any plans to do any head work.

dump the egos guys.

yes you can use those pistons in your stock itr, the problem is gonna be that you will be pushing 12:1 compression, and thats hard to do on pump gas.

That's what I thought. What about oversized JDM ITR's? Or P30's?

12:1 isn't really that hard on pump gas but you will need a good tune and 94 octane.
