But it's still having some issues, should stabilize in a day or two.

"The latest changes to the site are giving us some problems - We'll be back soon"

:happydance::happydance::happydance:

It seems like all the torrent engines are being shut down for the US. Torrentspy and ISOhunt arent letting US IPs use their site to look for torrents anymore.

referrals grant access to new users, they are like invites

I figured it would be back up because I tried pinging the URL the other day and it responded. I kinda figured if they got raided and forced to close shop they would have yanked it all.

I dont understand this new legislation... So no US users are not allowed to use torrents? I need to look into a proxy >.<

Which new legislation? Users aren't supposed to download and share copyrighted material, but I haven't heard anything baout not being able to use torrents, there's plenty of completely legal uses for the technology.

I get this when logging into torrentspy

Torrentspy Acts to Protect Privacy

Sorry, but because you are located in the USA you cannot use the search features of the Torrentspy.com website.Torrentspy's decision to stop accepting US visitors was NOT compelled by any Court but rather an uncertain legal climate in the US regarding user privacy and an apparent tension between US and European Union privacy laws.
We hope you understand and will take the opportunity to visit one of these other fine websites:

Isohunt
Apparently some P2P news sites are falsely reporting that we are blocking US visitors from using the isoHunt website itself. Let me say this is NOT the case. As reported above we are blocking US visitors ONLY to the BitTorrent TRACKERS we run. This will NOT affect torrents obtained from isoHunt unless these torrents only use said trackers that are isoHunt operated.

what I don't understand is the fact that one way or another, people are going to share files, legally or illegally, regardless of what anyone does. And if they block one way, then someone will figure out a new way, and everyone will use that until it's blocked. They need to just chill about it.

They just don't want to go through any legal hassles. I remember reading something about the guy running Piratebay talking about Torrentspy blocking US users.

I also noticed Torrentspy uses links to many other sites(like Mininova, etc.) that does not block US users.
