Finally got the Z on the road, drove it to work last night, and drove it a little in the morning after work, took it to get aligned and cleaned it up a bit...registered it last week to make it legal...somewhat...hehe. And decided to take it to work tonight as well.

and half way to work...it died.

I was running a little late, so I was doing well over the speed limit:ph34r:...and since the exhaust is super loud...I was a dead target among all the other cars rushing to work to make it on time as well...:p...and then I jumped out, stepped on it to pass a car, and midway thru the passing process...the ignition shut off...so I hit the hazards and pulled it over to the side of the road.


right as I pulled it over...I got lit up by a state trooper:eek:. And I was trying to crank the car when he came up to the passengers window...and he saw the reg date on the rear plate and first thing out of his mouth was..."I hope this is registered..."

It was...CT now has the registration sticker in the front windshields so the plates date are no longer needed...and I showed him the registration...and he laughed.:p And he said he would call AAA for me while I try some last chance tries to get the engine running again...he tossed me his flashlight and went back to his cruiser to make a call and play with his laptop. No luck on starting the car, so I gave up and he lit some flares and took off.

So the AAA truck came and took me back home with the car, I called work and took the day off...

If the car would have ran for about 30 seconds longer...it would have been different..:ph34r: I'd prolly have a ticket for speeding, and a noise ticket:D
 
I was pulled over last week for making a wide right turn.

I turned right onto a two lane road, but instead of turning into the outside lane, I turned into the inner lane. (The road was empty, btw..)

Its great that the officer gave me a warning.. I was going to friggin explode if he came back with a ticket for that. Sure it says not to in the book, but seriously, I fully stopped at the damn sign and pulled out.

so what is wrong with the Z?
 
no idea yet, but I'm only done with the major trouble shooting...now to dig deeper...but I'm thinking it might be an old transistor, fusable link, or a loose ground.

if I don't get it started by friday night..then I have no choice but to toss the turbo motor and harness in...and I'll need to score a decent turbo by next monday if that happens.
 
if the problem is electrical would swapping the motor help? not being sarcastic just wondering.

You have 6 turbos ... and only a helicopter mechanic would say "I may have a loose ground somewhere. So to FIX THIS I'M GOING TO SWAP THE MOTOR"
 
as much as the old hacked up and spliced harness is....a few bumps here and there and the engine dies, means that it may take a thorougher going thru to find the exact problem. I just pulled the motor and harness from the white Z, and it's got the newer haltec harness, and ran right before the engine was pulled...so the swap will be a deffinate runner, and more power, and I got 24 days to tune it before the drift clinic...plus the power would be fun to play with...hehe.

or I'll just bring the yellow Z to the house this week, and swap over suspension parts and beat the living crap out of it at the drift clinic. I know it runs, and has decent power with the triple webers and stripped body.



Tomorrow afternoon will be the deciding date...if I can't find the problem...then the car gets it 4th engine....and more power.


now lets see here....


t3/t4 turbo, larger intercooler, and SVO injectors...I should hit about 500 hp....but turbo lag will suck. The present setup is about 230 hp...and spins on a dime...literally...hehe

and yes....at work if we have an engine that has a leak or a powersurge...then we replace it with a new one....that costs about $700-900K's....:p
 
which mod changed the title????....dickhead...

anyways...fuel injectors are not getting voltage.... :(

got the car running again...and decided to try taking it to work again...:)


same thing...once I got on the hiway....engine dies. Cop came, AAA towed me home...and I jumped in the subby and went to work...an hour late.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
