FALCON PUNCH!!!
One month later and I've made *some* progress. Started connecting everything... it looks like part of the New York power grid behind there, and I'm about a third of the way done. the g/f chipped in a few ideas which turned out rather nicely.

Anyway... picture > 1000 words. Here's the latest in my homage to gaming.

Not much has changed, mixed up the stuff on the top a bit.

One of the g/f's suggestions. I like it. So... what's on the shelves?

Added an N64 to the lineup.

The guitar is my g/f's. I still don't see the appeal of that game.

Bedroom keyboard/touchpad and remote.

Secret of Mana but no Chrono Trigger?!

Warning, approaching fail threshold!

so you use a KB? why not just leave myth on all the time and control everything with a remote?

Pfft, my girlfriend has Secret of mana and 2 copies of CT all with original boxes :p

And no, she won't get rid of them.

so you use a KB? why not just leave myth on all the time and control everything with a remote?

I use both. The frontends are PCs as well with all the amenities... sometimes having a PC on a big ol screen is a nice thing. The remotes in the pics do control the frontends :)

I've started installing X10 in the apartment... hopefully the landlords don't mind me replacing all the switches :)

Yes, it will all be controlled via PC, and eventually through the Myth frontends. I'm hoping to write a few scripts for things such as theater lighting when I start a movie or timed controls for other appliances, etc.

Pics and such to follow! :)

what is x10?

X10 is wireless control of lighting and appliances.

Basically you can replace your regular switches/receptacles/etc with X10 modules...

The switches work just like normal switches... press it to cut the light on, press again to cut off. You can hold them to dim the lighting as well.

The neat part about X10 is that they can be controlled wirelessly. You get a remote such as this:

Each button corresponds to a module or switch. You can guess what it does from there :)

X10 modules range from screw in dimmers, to motion sensors, doorbells, window/door sensors, wall sockets, standalone timers, video cameras, windowblind controllers, etc... all of which can be controlled via PC. Plus you can purchase "stick a switches" which look just like normal switches with wall plates, but can be stuck anywhere. Light switch in an inconvenient place? Not anymore.

whoa...you even passed me on the geek scale...i think your extravagant myth setup is what did it....DAMN YOU!!

I gotta step my game up.
