Ladies and gents... I have a 95 civic ex coupe. Easiest friggin' car in the US to steal. My car stereo was stolen three times since I bought it and this last time the person was in such a rush that they ripped the antenna wire with the radio. <Idiot> ... anyways, I've been searching all over the net trying to find out how to replace it. No luck. I can't be the only person that's had to do this...

Ok, so I bought the replacement. I unscrewed the original from top of my car and tried to pull it out. I thought it would come right out but just my luck it's completely stuck. is there something clamping it down in between fender or side panel? The replacement antenna doesn't show anywhere it would catch. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Marcus

You can always try to find out exactly how they are getting in your car. My guess would be the door lock piece on the inside of the door since it has this lip that makes it easy to pull on. A car alarm may help.

But as far as the antenna wire. cant help you there. Relocate the radio underneath your seat if its that bad.:D

thats why they have a detachable face.. try removing it and you'll probably have a stereo the next morning, its always worked for me

Well well lil' ms. knowitall believe it or not the faces were always taken off along with my detachable steering wheel which would explain why I still have a car. Not my fault they're not too bright. But not that we have that lil' fact out in the open... what do you say we get back to the original problem: replacing the antenna on a 95 civic coupe. Anyone?

follow the wire to the door jamb asshat. im willing to bet there are hidden clips holding it up under the steering column.

1.disconnect antennae at the radio. thieving bastard did it for yo already GREAT!!
2. connect a piece of string or wire to the antenna to the lead at the radio end.
3. Remove the mounting screws pull the antenna out of the body pillar
4. fasten the wire or string to the lad of the new antenna...

there may be things fastening it down though along the way.
well from here its just reverse the steps/

thanks for the reply guys. i'll give it another shot when i get off work. As for the string idea lol i had planned to try that already but thought it was silly to mention. good to hear i'm not the only one with that idea. thanks

think anyone's ever really sat and wondered what an ass hat might look like? it's been a long damn day.

my antenna had clips every so often. have fun with that. i'm with the relocation crew. or you could mcgyver some sort of electroshock therapy for the bastards that apparently have your car dialed in.

Damn... a friend just txt me that I have to take the entire side panel off to replace just the antenna... puhleez tell me he's not right. DACHEAT were those clips under the steering column or under the side door panel?

I don't know about that. best way is to take a look when you are trying to pull it out. I personally do not know the routing on a 92-95 civic.
However ask your friend if he actually ran something through so he didn't have to take the side panel off because he couldn't feed the antenna back through.

nothing to do with the side panel or door; the antenna was loose-strung down behind the windshield body panel pillar (sorry i have no geeky carpart word for that), then down under the dash and had clips.
