how to idenify different heads

How do you find out what head is on a motor if someone says they swapped it? I don't know on hondas yet but i know some have different casting #s. is there a site that tells you which ones are which? thanks for any help you can give

like pm3-1 / pm5-8 or what?

there should be a code on the side(i think the intake side) like pm6 or p08....then go to google and type in HONDA ENGINE CODES and one of the links is an awesome writeup...itll tell you everything u need to know
