We worked into the night...

The next day I bolted the trans and other random stuff up to the motor.

My buddy worked all day getting all the electronics and gauges set up.

The car now has an integra radiator, so we I had to do some cutting and welding to get it to bolt in.

Good to drop in!

It took three tries to get the motor in right. Its a little tighter than normal because the supercharger pulley sticks out pretty far.

Almost done!

Well, that's all that I have so far. The car is done now, and runs and drives. I just haven't gotten around to taking pics of the finished car because I've been working a lot on the tuning. Driving the car, it is a hell of a lot faster than w/o the blower. Going from a stock d15 to this beast is ridiculous. The car has an amazing powerband now. Power is plentiful all over the rev range. I was able to pull away from an s13 that runs high 12's when we were just messing around. Now I need to get it tuned, and get a header.

Suggestions/Opinions?

I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing to my B18c1 eg hatch. I was wondering how the whole alternator/pulley system fits in there, because on my car theres less than 1 inch between the alt pulley and the body of the car.

haha.. nice.. swaps on the street FTW!!

shoulda degreased the engine bay before putting the motor in

Swapping in the street FTL:D I'd much rather have a garage. We worked into the night, and finding tools and misc bolts in the dark made me want to kill somebody. Either way, it was a lot of fun.

Here's a decent pic of the car:

You can see here that the sideskirt is missing... that flew off the car at 130+ mph when I took it out for the first time:D

You can get an idea of how tight the pullies are to hitting the chassis...

PICT0655.jpg

There was like a half inch clearance between the alternator pulley and the chassis. I can't even fit my finger in the gap. Its tough to see in the pics because its down in the engine bay. So yes, it does fit. Its just a tight squeeze.

I installed everything prior to putting the motor in the car. This made it a lot easier. I can't imagine what a huge bitch it would be slapping a jrsc on a gsr motor that's in a car. It can be done though.

The girl in the picture kept bugging me to come out and drink... I really wanted to, but I wanted to get the car done, and couldn't ditch the guys who came to help. The goal was to get it done in a weekend. The d15 got pulled on a thurs night, everything showed up via UPS friday, and the car was together sunday.

I regret not cleaning the engine bay more. I guess I got caught up in getting it running .

Damn, nice work men!!

Thanks for the props!

I love the nuespeed strut bar. I have yet to see anything that matches it for the price I paid. I really like how it connects to the UCA bolts instead of the shocks.

I spect to do something like that in the future but here find a b18c is very difficult and very expensive... I dont know what you think about a mini me?

Dam, that's a sexy beeatch! I really dig how 'stealth' it is back there. Can't wait to do one myself....

So there is hope for me after all!

How's the timing/tuning issues coming along?

Oh...and thanks for teh lucious pics, mang!

Hey thanks for the comments! I will get some vids up here hopefully this coming weekend. The tuning is getting there. Under load and WOT, the car is running fine, just a tad rich. Its at idle and cruising where its having some problems of being rediculously rich. I feel that its a bad 02 sensor, but i'm not getting and CEL's. I fixed the idle and stalling out issue by increasing the IACV duty cycle up to 80%. I don't know if me having to do this means theres another problem tho.

I like the idea of a mini me swap. It will give a nice boost in power for not alot of money. After driving and working on a d-series motor for awhile, I got to liking how rediculously cheap they are, how everything is so interchangable, and how they are small and easy to work on in the car. I have alot of respect for d series cars if they are done right.

whooo post #500

Awesome. Has a very nice look to it too. Dark tint would make it look alot better!

yeah i've been debating getting it tinted. I have also debated flat blacking the muffler, and painting the wheels gunmetal. My whole approach to this car is for it to look clean and low key at the same time.

Another thing, the map that jackson racing tells you to run goes from low to high cam at any rmp over 3000 and over 1 psi of boost. What do you guys think of this? I know for N/A its best to leave the vtec crossover at the stock level. On the highway, in 5th gear, when I go to accelerate it is now in vtec, making for a very loud exhaust tone. Basically any time I accelerate with more than like 1/3 throttle, the thing is hitting vtec, making it loud as hell.

500 posts and you have a build thread I have <<< and mine is still a work in progress. Nice set-up though. Looks like a hell of a sleeper.
