ok guys, i searched the internet high and low and found nothing what so ever..

I am curious and want to gather some info on swapping a f20 into a del sol.

I know this would be stupid, hard as hell and possibly a mistake, but it would also be bad ass to have a rwd del sol..

Ive never seen under the hood of a S2000 so i dont even have a clue what could be involved, so im asking you all if anyone would know

So basically what you're looking to do is build a RWD F20C-powered Honda convertible?

Well you're in luck! The engineers at Honda already assembled that exact car for you! It's called the S2000! :D

Seriously though, with all the money you'd spend on buying the motor and fabbing this up you'd be well on your way to just buying an S2k to begin with. Not worth it in my opinion...

i know i know, lol smart ass ..

but i can see it, going down to the track, doing a burnout and the back tires are spinnin like crazy, people would be like wtf lol plus its like what, 240 something stock......I dunno i just really want to find a drift car for the track, and i love my car and thought it would be different lol but yea, expensive im sure. I saw on HT some guy is putting a h22 in the trunk and making it rwd, really cool and mod props to him, but thats wayyy too much fabrication

There's a guy on Team Integra that did that with his GSR too. He's got a 100+ page build thread if you want to check it out.

Doing it that way isn't that bad of an idea actually, since you're essentially just taking the existing FWD setup and moving it to the back of the car rather than having to fab up a custom RWD differential and axles. It's still a hell of a lot of work and customizing though...

all i can say is have fun...the f20c is deceptively big...youre probably going to have to extend into the passenger compartment.

Unless your goal is to spend outrageous amounts of money on a one-off, then id just forget it.

in Honda Tuning the geniuses at Braille motorsports made an integra RWd with a lot of parts from a CRV, tranny, rear diff and a whole lot of fabrication.
the cool thing is you can either be AWD or RWD your choice.
it's a HELL of a lot of work though.

<<<got the issues with that integra. It is deffinitly sick to see rooster tails spraying up from the rear wheels of a 'tegg/'sol/'civic,, which theres a thread floating around here at HS that has a link to an F20/ RWD EG civic. I'd have to say though. Theres nothing like seeing rooster tails fly up from the back of an s2000 either!!!!!!

All that money man..... you would definitly be better off buying an s2000. Theres a RED '02 down the street from me for $11,500. Has 88,000 miles on it. Not to hard to find them for cheap nowadays.

Shitty CRV tranny and a welded rear diff. Other than that it was sweet.

lol thanks for the input and pic, its not a def yet, just something i was thinking about and wanted to get some insight on.

Honda-tech.com

There is a LS1 RWD Swapped Civic EK hatch, an an H22 Mid engine RWD Teggy.

Both one off's and done for fun.

And Don't be retarded if you want a 'drift' car, buy a 240, and get the hell off these boards,

Lots of time, determination, and oh, yeah, lots and lots of $$$$$$$$$$. With enough money and time you can do anything (Saw a writeup the other day on a guy thats putting a vette engine in a...CRX I believe...)

Here's a featured car from a surgeon ($$$$) that did it:

yup, money cutting torch and welder anything can happen lol

but actually from that pic, it doesnt look TOO bad one of my concerns would be the driveshaft running with the shift linkage,

and before any smart remarks come back that is not my only concern lol

Calesta; Ahhhhh..... why couldn't I have found a white one......
The s2000's tranny is self-contained( no external linkage )......the only tunnel problem i see is where to run the exhuast.

Sure .... if you like bleeding from the ears. I have INVIDIA duals on mine with the stock cat. and it is super-loud. The intake isn't helping either though.

um...it's because it's rwd. i can't think of a single rwd that has linkage.
