1500 5-spd MT. Auto choke functionsing properly. Carb either floods or starves to shut off[. Full OH kit installed. Needle and seats operating properly..not binding. Gas tank removed and cleaned. Gas lines blown out. New filters. Engine temp proper. Fuel pump checked o.k. Regulator put in gas line and adjusted down to 1# and problem still persists. Regulators on Air Horn connected and working. Starts and idles perfect but after a period of time, it either floods out or starves. Floats are good .. no leaks. Totally baffled. Any answers or suggestions greatly appreciated

Dose it floods after driving or idle for some time? I would say get some carburator cleaner and spray a couple of cans in case of build up in the intake, because build up is a b**** on vacuum engines if it keeps flooding Check spark plugs gap because under heat electrical current can weaken especially if your gap is too wide last but not least check egr valve > I do not know how to check an egr valve so you would have to ask some one else, but let me know after you check^_^

Carburetor has been thoroughly cleaned and kitted. No build up. Plugs are new and properly gapped. EGR is functioning properly. Installed an adjustable fuel flow regulator on "in" line .. at 3# ..the amount the fuel pump normally puts out, gasoline pushed past the floats Engine idles beautifully and runs same at higher rev. Altho the needle and seats are new, we suspicion the "O" rings are not the proper size and allowing leakage at pressure above 2#. Could be wrong rings were in the kit or ??.

O rings could leak but not that much if you cannot smell gas. I want you to get your car to stall again right after it stalls look for fuel leakage. Next what we need to do is find out if its flooding or starving so reproduce the stalling, right after it stalls try to start it if it cannot start or backfires throught the carb its flooding. also how many miles are on your car? Then get back with me when your finish

83 Civic carb

No gas smell ... no backfireing. Does start but takes some grinding because of too much fuel. You can watch the float level rise when the pressure is above 2#. Rear Float definitely is NOT shuting off supply properly. Car has around 170K miles

I believe you've answered your question, also 170k is very gentle for an 83 civic??? any other questions just ask, but untill then take care

Problem found!! Needles were NOT seating even tho it is a new kit. Burnished the seats and all is well. Thanks for your courteous attention in this matter.
