update on Post #23 - 10/17/07

well as most here know my car hasnt had paint in a long time... ever since i did some body work on the sides a while back, and that was before i even joined up on the site..
right at the moment i'll only be doing the primer, but once i get moved into my house and can leave the car parked in the garage i'll be finishing it with the gloss white
i just want it not to look like absolute hell anymore..

so far i have only put primer on the rear bumper, roof, side skirts, wing, rear quarters and a thin coat on the driver side door (ran out of paint)
i still have the passenger door, both left and right front fenders, hood, and front bumper..
the fenders and front bumper are being replaced.. i just have to pick them up from a buddies house ( the guy who was originally gonna paint my car, but ended up getting hurt so he has to stay off his feet for a while.. :( )

now onto the pics..

this is my skirts and SiRII rear wing ... the skirts had seen there better days so i sanded them down and i'm doing them a Satin Black.. i'll also be doing the same thing to the OEM lip and underneath the wing..

here is the rear bumper primered up and wet sanded some what..

here is a side shot with the rear primered.. the whole car looked like the passenger side door, but actually worse.. hahha.. more like the fender

thanks.. i know i have a long way still.. lots and lots of sanding.. oh well, nothing better to do with my time

I must have missed the original thread about the $50 paint job but would I be right in assuming that it is rattle-can primer> wet-sand> rattle-can gloss> wet-sand? Just curious because I always wanted a black Integra but would never pay a shop far too much money to spray over paint that is fine.

is it for sale

 what kind of question is that?

not spraying it.. rolling it.. using Rustoleum Primer and Gloss White.. when i can afford a real paint job, i'll get one.. right now i cant so this will have to do

What kind of wheels are those? I'm guessing they came off a DA Integra maybe?

bingo!!.. 92-93 GSR wheels

i think you should just flat black it with spray cans. i don't know if i totally trust the roll on job. plus, flat black doesn't look too bad.

its been sprayed on flat black before.. i dont like it..

anyways.. this guy did it and it shows pics after a year later and it looks like the day it was buffed out
50 Dollar Paint

wow is all i got to say that one write up on the corsa and the final project really makes it seem that you don't even have to pay maacco for the paint job and that you can do it yourself keep us posted and show us the final project after its done :nod:

yeah i know cmon im not that much of a retard its just some people forget and i don't want you to forget lol

One little tip: Sand all of that primer off of the skirts and prime them in black.. Paint doesn't stick to that kind of plastic very well, so rock chips will be common.. With black primer and black plastic underneath, noone will be able to see the chips. Just a little detail to keep it looking good down the road =D

There is a huge thread on Honda Tech about this. Maybe it could be a little help. I am thinking about attemping it in the summer. Hope to see some progress. Good luck!

yea.. i really should have done this over the summer, but i just use a small portable heater in the garage to dry it
