the only downside to doing that is you'll get worse gas mileage on the freeway since you'll be at a higher rpm
 
I swapped a B18C with B16 trans into my friend's CRX and it gets 35-40 mpg :) If you don't mind cruising around at like 4500 rpm or higher on the freeway then go for it! It makes a pretty big difference in acceleration.
 
I think its a great combination. Acceleration is faster and the gearing is very close. You might give up a few miles on your mpg but not much.
 
A GSR with a b16 tranny will RIP. Enough said. I have an LS hatch with a b16 tranny & bolt ons that runs 14.6's to 14.8's all day. Do it.
 
JDM ITR is better because of reliability and compensation of more potential to exceed 200 from factory spec. With the b16 tranny, expecting like 210 with b18c1 more like 190 with b16 trans:cool:
 
another thing with a b16 tranny.. the differential is weaker..
