It's only stupid if it doesn't work

Since I stopped drinking I have a lot more income just lying around. So what to do? FINALLY swap the tranny on the teg. So here's the question... I want to use a cable tranny. I'm getting a YS1 from jjrjdm85. The motor(boost ready LS-V) I'm getting from jjrjdm85 is also OBD1. Could I take a 93 Integra (cable and OBD1), use it as a parts car, and use all the stuff out of that to swap the tranny on the 97 and make it OBD1 with little or no modification?

I'm simply asking because it would seem that getting everything all at once would be more cost effective and having two extra LS motors laying around is never a bad thing.

why are you going cable??
I've been told that it's a little harder to swap to hydro from auto, plus a good hydro tranny is $$$. Not to mention I've always preferred the feel of cable (It may be mental, but I swear I feel a difference).

Sooooooooooo, will a 93 parts car work the way I think it should?

Yup again. I know someone knows if the stuff is compatible.

Im not 100% certain, but im pretty sure you are on the right track. There were very few changes made to the integra over the years (body structure wise), so if you have a 93 parts car you should be able to move all the shit into the 97. The only questions would be sensors, but if the 97 is already wired as an OBD1 you should be okay.
