as the message says im would like to swap my d16z6 in my 95 delsol to a b series. the main reason is the redline difference. i know it isn't much but around here 800 rpm would help me out alot. ne ways i need so opinions. im sure its been posted but i can't seem to type the right words to get a good search. what would be better. i have a budget of 3500 give or take a $100. so what is everyones opinion. put down the 3000 for the b18c1 or put down 2000 on a b16 and put the rest of the money into it???
 
If you can get one motor cheaper than the other do it then put some money twards what you would need to finish it off.
 
ok the other night my buddy let me drive his 95 gsr integra to help me determine if i wanted the b18c or b16 i drove a b16 a couple months back, i like the b18 more, it just feels like it gets up and goes in every gear, now, would my del sol be a little bit quicker than his gsr, basically, is the del sol lighter than the gsr???
 
stock vs stock the b18c will be better it has more torque
 
LS/vtec or crvtec built properly if you have any kind of mechanical ability would be the winner.

A motor is only as reliable as its builder.

And a Del Sol with a B18c would be much quicker than a stock GSR. I read an article that a Del Sol with Type R(B18c with minor work) can walk certain models of corvettes.

The way I see it, a B16 came in a Del Sol stock at one point. Why swap to a B16 and have it still considered stock?

My vote is for B18c if you dont want to build a B20VTEC or an LSV.
 
ive decided to go with the b18c1, and if i wanted to i could always slap a b16 head on it couldn't i?? that would basically make it a type r minus the port and poish on the head
 
Get the b16a and use the remaining $1,000 to piece together a homemade turbo kit :D!

That's your fastest option.
 
srry i didn't mention it earlier, but i don't want to go turbo on the car. altho u r right ive heard a b16 is more potent in top end power, turbo just isn't my thing in this car, ive got a side project 240sx that im puttin an sr20det into it, that is gonna be my first turbo car and ill see how i like the turbo then.
 
go with a GSR.. you'll be happier in the long run.. if you get the b16 it'll leave you wanting more.. trust me, i know.. haha
 
I say GSR i have one on engine stand im building for boost just after i built my B20/TypeR head but like it said its all on the builder...
 
ok im not new to motors but this would be my first swap, i know i would need a motor mount kit, but would the motor here B18C1 (GSR)B18c1 come with everything i need, or would i need more, and please, if u think im looking in the wrong place or there is a better website with better service and prices let me know, thanks much
