Will trade d16y8 complete, for d16y7

I am in SE PA. Halfway between philadelphia and harrisburg. I have a 97 civic witha blown motor, and I bought another motor with about 32,000 miles on it. I then realized the differences and dont want to deal with a swap. I would take a similar milage y7 in even trade. I have pic of the motor, it has injectors and intake and exhaust manifold and what not. Mike

differences?? ones vtec, one isnt.. run 2 wires and you're good to go

Well I have been reading up on it....Like I said my car is a y7, dont you have to change the ECU, the exhaust manifold and something about the dizzy? Care to talk? I would call you if you could.

Can you elaborate on the two wire advice?

what state are you in,, the two wires are for the vtec pressure switch and vtec solenoid, you just run it to the new ecu witch you will have to have.

actually I am not even trying to make it a VTEC. I just want the dang thing to run. I dont care if the VTEC works right now. Another friend said I can just plug and play it, and it should run fine, its just that the VTEC wont operate.

i have a msdcap for a y8 should still work on y7,and msd coil
i also have a y8 intake mani and one of of a 91si i can throw in (only one of the 2 y8 or the si)

i have a y7 block in south jersey willing to drive for trade plus cash has around 80k on it. all i really have is the block no intake mani or anything so i could trade plus cash if you want so you could have money for the other stuff. pm me

Well I had that offer from one of the first posters, but he didn't come buy the Y8 I have. I dont need anything fancy and I think I am just going to finish installing the Y8 today and not worry about the mods for VTEC right now. I just want to get the car on the road. Thank you for everyones offers.
