do I need to do anything specil during the swap?I want the much smaller d15b6 out and the d15b2 in ASAP HELP ME pls

Ok. well our doing the opposite than what most people do. the engines are roughly the same displacement. just one has less power. Try to source a PM6 ecu and an intake manifold for MPFI, its a lot easier than trying to get it to DPFI.

Looks like the cam gear on the other engine is off along with the belt. Double check there isnt anything wrong with the other engine. get the belt on as well as timing, and at least compression check the thing before it goes into the car.

edit:: (oops i failed at getting this in before the nice guy came along):
bump someone nice, please help the guy? :)

thx z6crx!!

bahaha. thats funny. looking at this .. Dacheat. i still need to get to myself a new computer :(. I'm working of everyone elses or a wireless with Nnintendo DS.

One more thing I cant find the directions for dpfi to MPFI,you just do that in reverse if you still want to DPFI

well

thanks for the advice I have been all over the place looking for the answer so for the help of anyone else who finds themselves in this....most people think its a waste of time....you have to go from dpfi to mpfi mpfi is ALOT better ......you only have to change the ecu and gangster wire the other fuel injectors to put it basically.... also ( this is the point ) you should go for a d16 or a b-series if your considering a swap---- thats most peoples opinion.Atleast SOMEONE said something

later

I did compresion tests and leakdowns also checked fuel air fire......Im a technician anyone worth thier salt knows that and d15b6 is DPFI d15b2 is MPFI Im putting in a d16 or b16 instead after feilding alot of drama for this

Keep the HF distributor and manifold and SKIP the DPFI conversion.

Later on, if you want to work the D a little; Si camshaft/Y8 cam gear, Si ECU, PM7 pistons, Si manifold; and you'll see a noticeable gain.

There are guys with D-series putting down more power than the B16 for less the price of the swap. But, if you're looking for more power later on then B-series will be a better route.

Looks like you ought to use the old dist and intake on your DPFI engine. They should change out, and then no wiring changes.

well

the general consnsus is good with keeping my old intake and not changing the harness but I havent have time or help to make it happen

Just transmfer the HF intake manifold, engine harness, and distributor.

dude thats a big waste of time both motors are pos
^^^WERD

But if you want it like that, to each his own:
* Swap all of the MPFI components from the B6 to the B2

And just a little thought:
* Swap over the B6 manifold and junkyard turbo the B2

D15b2 swap

ok, I guess there must be someone else out there thats as cheap and as broke as I am. I installed a D15B2 into my 89 hf I used a SI intake and exhaust and the wiring off of the D16 that was out of a 89 SI and now I dont have any spark. All of the stuff that I have read over the years said that the wiring was the same for the SI and the HF. What gives?? I even changed the dizzy to one that I had for a D16 that came off of the car that I got the intake off of thinking that it had messed up or something in the swap.
THanks, Steven

Did you?

In order to do the swap correctly from DPFI to MPFI you need not only to change the manifold the wiring harness has to be changed (if you want to do it right you change the harness under the dash as well.) The distributor has to be changed also make sure that you have the injector resistor box as well. The ecu depending on which one was in the car as well needs to be changed to a PM6 reason I know this is becuase I am in the middle of the same swap my problem is I am in Europe in the military and parts are hard to come by or shipping from the states is outrageous. Anyway that should get you started and thats the correct and cheapest way to go. Let us know how it goes...PLAN B
