Alright this Civic is getting on my nerves and I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere with it. It runs but will not idle/bogs at part throttle.

Anyways; how much do you guys think I can make off of everything? And should I sell/part out? I really like the fact I can get good MPG out of this thing; but maybe I should move on? I haven't even put much miles on it.

Here's everything:
-1988 Civic Std, ~220k original miles; CRX fenders, corners, and bumper, painted primer black except CRX panels which are red, gutted but with CRX tilt steering/wheel, CRX dash(has crack in it), and CRX door panels, GSR gauge cluster
-OBD1 D15B VTEC(~41k miles); Omnipower valves, head work/resurface by T-Hoff; uknown "Stage-3" camshaft and Hayame cam gear
-DOHC ZC transmission(~72k miles); 92-95 differential with CRX Si countershaft, GripForce stage-1 clutch and 7lb Fidanza flywheel; Energy Suspension rear torque mount(front mount removed)
-MSD Extreme cap and rotor, MSD A6 wires modified to fit, Blaster-2 coil
-ebay 4-2-1 header
-Innovate LC-1 wideband O2 sensor
-Socketed and converted P28 ECU; Moates Ostrich and TTL-RS232 chip
-1991 EX knuckles and rotor; rebuilt DA calipers and new generic pads
-new Gabriel 89 Accord front shocks with ebay adjustable coilovers
-1993 Integra GSR front sway bar; Energy Suspension bushings
-cut rear springs with Ford E250 shocks
-14" Steelies
-black CRX seatbelts
-relocated battery

Things included but not installed:
-14x6 11lb Miata rims(no tires)
-stock D15B/Z6 camshaft and PM3B gear
-1" Master cylinder and booster
-Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve
-ZR 4-1 header
-Flowmaster Delta muffler, Sebring 24" resonator
-Spare hood(red)
-std fenders and bumper(primered grey)
-stock exhaust with rice cannon on the end
-CRX 2.25" straight exhaust(needs to be extended to fit)
-CRX passenger and driver seats

That's all I can think of right now. The bads are the wiring is hacked(pretty much 93 EX wiring harness "retrofitted" in there so the car is OBD1), needs taillights, gauge bezel, and passenger seat. No pics at the moment though.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

i don't have much to add except that i get sad when i see someone fed up with their project :(

Too bad you are switching gears - but I don't blame you. Your best bet in this situation would be to part the car out. You would likely make more money that way.

I really don't want to stop, but I'm trying to figure out what's best for me right now. A project that doesn't go anywhere isn't much of a fun project anymore.

I've thought about doing that; but really want everything gone right away. I already have many parts laying about. I'll just see where this goes.

So sad. :(

I'm going to tell you to find a nice clean '91 CRX Si & start over. Or get a CRX shell & throw all those goodies in it....^_^

Timing has been checked(both cam and ignition), various sensors(TPS, MAP, O2), replaced fuel filter, messed with different .bins, etc. I'm stumped. I will have a professional tuner look at it as a last resort I guess. Some of my friends are trying to help me with the car right now but it seems futile.

This is probably going to be my last Honda project; next project will probably be a Miata or Mirage. If I get another Honda it will be solely for daily driving/economy. This is the third "EF" I've owned . Prior ones were two 88 CRX DX's. The engine in the car right now actually came from my second CRX.

I`ll buy all the shit off you!!

Hey man, I know the feeling. I was working on my ED Civ one day and just dropped the tools. Couldn't do it anymore.

As far as projects, don't let people tell you should or shouldn't hold onto them. That's why everyone makes fun of me: If my project isn't going the way I want it to, if someone offers me money out of it, or if I simply lose interest I don't think twice about scrapping it and starting something new.

Everyone here tongues my anus about it, but fuck it - I do what I want, when I want. Experiment, move around, don't be ashamed. Also remember that projects are like the cars themselves: Cheap, Fast, or Good. Pick 2. With the Vega I don't have the cash to throw at it, but I want it good. So I chose "slow".

I'm still thinking if I should work towards selling the Vega and getting myself into an 87 Esprit, 89 911 or 2000-2004 MB 320 2 door.

They can be had for around the price of a new Corolla.

:shrug2:

I got fed up with the Civic, so I bought the S2000.

and all this time i thought you simply ran out of room to bore the B series any further

seriously a 2.3L B series  who does that??????
crazy texans

I don't know much about the older sports cars, but I do like the Porches; but I know I can't afford that. lol.

Yea right now I'm just waiting on any offers that come by. Otherwise; I'm just working on it on my spare time and pushing it to the side.

Oh yea, saw a Lotus Elise today...I wish I had the money though. lol. I just prefer lightweight cars for some reason.

Also, speaking of Espirits, anyone remember the cheap one on ebay that a wife was selling cheap? lol

^ an older porsche wouldnt be too spendy, depending on what it is.

my grandpa had 4 914's before he died. 3 were slow as molasses, but the 4th one was really pretty quick. he used to do rally events around here.
oh, and his other car was a 98 2.5RS. Stupid grandma sold em all.

Anyway, i like the look of the 914's, and im pretty sure they are fairly cheap.

If you wanna turn your cash into a mere deposit you can buy the firstgen Lotus turbo, an NA 911 or the like for like $14k. And you KNOW they are cared for.

I'd rather buy a 30 year old porsche than a 2 year old Honda. The honda has been through the mill by that time.

the 914 can be had for about $4k, and a 928 for about $8000.
