I have a 1995 prelude vtec, need a new trans soon and wanted to get an opinion. Should I rebuild the one i have in it now or put a rebuilt accord transmission in it, which is longer.
That depends on your budget and whether or not you car about the gear ratios. If you can afford to have the H22 transmission rebuild, then I'd do that, as it's much better suited to the powerband of the motor than an Accord transmission would be.
The Accord trans is longer, but it's not going to benefit you to put that in your car. I would either rebuild the trans that's in your car now or buy a used/rebuild H22 trans to replace it with. You're going to really hurt your acceleration by installing an Accord trans.
